Good piece by Thomas Hauser following Duddy's last fight. Whatever you think of Duddy he comes across as a very decent guy. He was slated on here for his last fight but give me a Duddy fight any day over the likes of Klitscho and Ibragimov.

That's like saying give me a poke in the eye over a slashed wrist!

His fights might have action, but if he's to be seriously considered as a challenger to Pavlik, or Abraham for that matter, he needs to step up at least 2 more levels, and at his age I simply don't see that happening now.

He hasn't progressed since Campas and Lee is hard on his heels.

Gatti was a great fighter to watch, but wasn't a truly great fighter.

Duddy should ditch Don Turner who has done squat to improve his defence and generally i see zero changes of style. You can't teach an old dog new tricks? No, but tell him to move his head for goodness sake!

I don't think anyone's claiming that Duddy is a great fighter or even anywhere near as good as Gatti, least of all Duddy himself. To me the guy seems to be a good, honest pro. We all know why he's being considered as an opponent for Pavlik and it has far more to do with his ability to shift tickets than his boxing ability.

That's not Duddy's fault, I say good luck to him and I hope he gets well paid for it. Half the posts on here seems to be about guys who won't fight anyone at least Duddy is willing to fight the best even if it might not be wise to do so.

That's a brilliant article. I agree with you. I think Duddy is an amazing person. The more I see him or read what he says, the more I like him.

It's valid points mate, but I feel sorry for guys that actually deserve a chance at Pavlik like Wright. Heck I'd even take Sturm if he could find his passport. I honestly wouldn't put Duddy in the top 10 MW.
