.... I got absolutely slated on here for being the only one who said "lets wait to see Haye fight Mac in a unification fight as opposed to a WBO title defence".

I feel a bit justified now with all the posts/hype surrounding the fight. It is now the biggest fight it can possibly be (well, I suppose if a similar scenerio happend with them as Heavyweights).

On a side note though, I kind of feel a bit sad to know that one of these good exciting fighters are going to get the KTFO of them. It might be hard for the loser to comeback from a crushing defeat and in reality both have the talent to become the #1 at Heavyweight (Haye) and at Cruiserweight (Mac). Anyone else feel a bit like that? I must be getting old.

I don't think its the end for the loser, may depend on how they lose on how quick they can get back to top level.
If one of them get KO'd inside of a round , then it will be harder.
But if they get stopped after a bruising encounter, then the fans will line up again to see them.
It didn't hurt the career of people like Benn, Sibson, Bruno when losing the big fights.

I feel they have a big enough fan base to come back ok.

Maybe Haye would find it more damaging if he lost , as he is stepping up to face the heavies.

I think its one of those fights though in which a first round KO is possibly the likely scenerio - it could look like a mismatch.

Especially harder for Enzo Mac cause 1) He aint as pretty as Haye, might sound rediculous - but looks didn't do the career of Ali and DLH much harm and he could still be a poster boy and 2) He cannot use weight as an excuse.

I do think that the welsh fans would still turn out to watch Macca, even if he does lose quickly.

There's not much else to do in those valleys

Could always turn out to see one of our other genuine world champions... 2 champions with nothing to do, not bad eh...

I disagree Ian. I think Enzo has a great deal more to lose than David. David can simply say "I had to lose 105lbs" whereas Enzo has no excuse. David can also trundle up the barron HW talent lane, skipping whilst he goes.

Enzo simply cannot be effective at any other weight.

Personally I'd prefer Duddy v Lockett for the winner to get Kelly in November.

That would be the ideal scenario to come out of this because neither of them has justified a shot as yet.
