A Haye win is good for British boxing. Here is a fighter that will take chances, take risky fights & not take the piss out of the fans with bullshit opponents. He's taking a massive risk when he could have easily gone up to heavyweight and built on his win over the WBC #12 Bonin.

He's going up against not only Enzo Mac, but Warren as well, with all his cheap tricks like having the weigh in put back.

If Haye wins on Sat, he could be a legit p4p fighter, a possible heavyweight hope, and a major international name. By contrast, if Enzo wins I wouldn't be surprised if he dumped 2 of his 3 belts so they can handpick opposition.

Enzo Mac is a good fighter, but the fact that they only want a weight drained opponent - proven beyond doubt with the weigh in delay - really makes me want them to lose.

Come on Haye, DO HIM. Do it for Britain.

A little extreme but i suppose in principal i agree! It's nothing personal against Enzo Mac in my case, pretty much the same as everyone else here i would imagine....we all know who the culprit is.

I'm behind Haye yes.

I don't mind Enzo Mac like most of you and to be honest if he loses he can come again (I guess Haye could too) but you can kind of map out his career path if he wins tomorrow night and it doesn't make rivoting reading.

I think we would all love a decent Brit Heavy as well and it would be great to send David up to Heavy having unified the Cruiserweight division - that looks good on the CV.

I agree entirely. He wants to fight the best because he wants to be the best. His attitude exposes all that is rotten in Boxing today.

He's got Hasim Rahman lined up next. Would any other British HW take that fight without it being for a title? Audley wouldn't fight him if you allowed him to put horseshoes in his gloves.

Totally agree with this thread! If Enzo wins fair play, but we will ever hear the end of it from sports network? Surely he will rate Enzo as p4p number 5 or something as ludicrous!

I bet he will even have the audacity to call his man undisputed despite cunningham holding the IBF.

I agree with pretty much all that's been said here. I think Enzo seems a good bloke and is a very good fighter but I've always loved Haye's attitude and for me I'd rather have him representing British boxing. The fact that he's taking this fight, despite weight and allegedly, highlights again that he's a true fighter to the core.

I don't mind who wins. I'd be glad if Enzo won, as I predict he will, and I find him a very likable character.

Not that Haye is not likable, but I think that Enzo has had a lot of fairly unjustified flack throughout his career. I've liked what I've seen ever since the Hobson fight onward. The Gunn fight was a big fat blank, but he's had some other very impressive victories, including Dominguez and Braighwaite, which seem to have been largely ignored.

Whoever wins, they bring credit to the sport. Whatever people may feel about the Haye v Warren situation is an irrelevance to me, so long as the best man wins on the night, that's good enough for.

I say good luck to both of them for putting it all on the line. Haye could have hopped up to heavy, and Enzo could have waited until Haye moved up and then gone for the other belts further down the line A-La Calzaghe.

Yes, Enzo does seem ok as a person and I actually prefer his style to Haye's. But if he wins, does anyone think he'll defend those WBC and WBA belts with guys like Alexeev, Aaron Williams, Matt Godfrey, YP Hernandez, knocking on his door? I don't have enough faith in Warren's promoting to think he'll keep the belts. He'll just keep his Ring & WBO belts, wait til Cunningham comes over and fight bums in the meantime.

Also, if Enzo wins, we still may be asking "How good is he?" if he got Haye at the right time.

I'd rather Haye win. I'd like to see someone knock Warren off his pedestal. I think it's important that Haye wins this one.

I'm with you on this one, if Macca does win he'll vacate the WBC/WBA belts at some point, Warren doesn't like mandatories and the WBO don't enforce them. So if Macca does unify it could prove pointless 'cos the belts will be split up again, a bit like Calzaghe when he dropped the IBF after one voluntary defence.

Enzo did improve a lot between the 2 Hobson fights. (I had Enzo by 1 point and in fighting down to Hobson actually contributed to an excellent scrap first time...). In the rematch he didn't take any of the taller man's jabs, impressively catching Hobson's jab with his right hand. The KO punch that put Hobson away was weird though. Telegraphed, very high, not very fast punch & it was all over.

I thought it was a bodyshot that did for Hobson, or is that what he dropped him with in the first fight? Is my memory deserting me?

As I have said elsewhere. Let's not forget that Haye was down, and heavily against Mock, and was also stopped by Thompson, so it's not like Macca cannot hurt him.

I think when judging a fighter, it's best to look at their best win, and worst win/loss.

Haye has the Mock fight as his worst win, (Or Fragomenni) the Thompson fight as his worst loss, and the Mormeck fight as his best win.

Maccas sole loss was to Swaby, VERY early in his career, his worst win, probably Hobson, and his best win over Braithwaite.

Is there really such a disparity in their records on that basis?
