Seeing John fight was a highlight for me, but with Inkin and Hatton pulling out the card has to be cancelled.

Yeah, it does look like a bit of a non starter from that POV. Miranda, Kessler, and Sanavia have turned down the chance to fight Froch at late notice apparently. Why have the headache.

Does anyone else think that Murray-Fewkes could be put back a week on the Thaxton-Romanov undercard? What a night that would be. The future of UK boxing is at lightweight (Khan, Murray, Fewkes, big super feathers Mitchell, Truscott, might as well throw in Arthur) world class ama Frankie Gavin as well...Already there are great fights and this increases the chances of more i.e. winner vs winner on the night. I think the roots are there. Look at all the great recent-ish fights, Earl-Katsidis, Earl-Romanov, Johanesson-Gomez (down at 130), Mitchell-Johanesson (130). 130-135 is where our David Haye and Joe Calzaghes will be in a couple of years.

Surely Froch-Inkin can be re-scheduled for another day. Or does Hennessy try to salvage the show?

Bloody hell, poor Hennessy, he's tried to put on a value for money show only to have the rug pulled from under his feet.

I have my tickets and trying to think who I'd be happy with as a replacement, Kessler and Miranda have said no, so who else is there? Lacy is a spent force, Manfredo probably would, but no way, Bute has just beat Joppy, as has Mundine so it leaves for me Green, Bika or Codrington. Or at a push I wouldn't bet against Mayorga or Elcock.

Shame, as the fight may be cancelled.

That's a real pisser, I was looking forward to this whole card. Inkin is clearly scared as fornicate. None of these Eastern Euro guys seem to want to fight these days, just to line their pockets against bums in Germany. Shameful.

Looking at the rankings, Bika and Solomon are the only ones I could see taking the fight at this stage. None of the Europeans or Americans will be up for it, imo.

Thats a bit of a shame. I guess though you just have to shrug and say "It happens." I'm sure they can get an opponent.

Thats a terrible blow for Froch .. as well as Hennesssy

I really thought this could provide an oppurtunity for both to get their foot into the big time: Froch `smoking the boots`(Its prob the cheesiest line in boxing - but I can`t help liking it ) of a credible opponent, and Hennessy showing what he would/could deliver.

Gutted :(

Bad news for Froch - Bad news for Hennessy and most importantly bad news for British Boxing - I have no doubts Carl Froch is one of the stars of British Boxing - I am positive he wanted to jump on the success the sport is having at this present time.

I hope Hennessy can find a reasonable opponent to replace Inkin.

Real shame re Froch. This was his big fight. I thought Inkin was a really good fighter. Is he unfit to fight, or is it his scared promoters who engineered the pullout?

Hennessy seemed to pull off a nice double whammy with Froch-Inkin, Murray-Fewkes.

Not forgetting MH. No doubt he is going to lose a shed load of his (or somebody elses) money here. Plus it doesn't really help his reputation as a promoter.

I really doubt Inkin is scared. Let's see the full story before coming out with that sort of bullshit.

sure but Universum pulled Chagaev out of his fight due to him being "sick". It seems likely that they want to have a crack at getting the fight in Germany. Didn't Warren do something similar with the Rees-Kotelnik, so his man didn't have to lose abroad? I know what the cynics in a lot of us thought.

Also, which is it for Inkin? The virus or the injury? I'm not sure which has been settled on.

If there's nothing wrong with Inkin, I'd believe it was his promoters. Inkin's a classy fighter but known to have chin problems as in the last fight.

This is avery bad shame, because ITV and Showtime were involved.

What a disaster for Froch. He's not getting any younger, and he could do without these delays. How will this affect Inkin's status I wonder, have they allowed a postponment?

Arrrgghhh...no details yet, but I'm sure those canny operators at Universum realised there was a good chance their man was going to get a beating - the times they have to send one of their boys to the other guys backyard is once every 10 years or so.

Must have been relieved when Inkin came down with....err man flu??

Mick should ask them to send over their so called "Hundred Year Talent" to replace - it'd be a perfect fit, with Jurgen Brahmer stepping in. He's lined up to fight one week later as well. No chance anything that sensible & logcal will occur in boxing though.
