I know its something the majority of you all already expected - but the attached article seems to confirm Ricky Hatton will be fighting Malanaggi next in the states - this will fulfil another Hatton ambition of fighting and topping the bill in New York.

The article also confirms that Malanaggi will be Chief Support in Manchester on 24 May 08.

Hatton/Malanaggi Is Next!!!

Maliginaggi has zero respect for Hatton.

If the fight happens - I hope PM kick his arse!

PM would then fight Witter.

So Hatton's schedule is Lazcano, Malignaggi and Pacquiao, I guess? Can't see Witter getting a look in at all there. Maybe after those three fights are done and dusted, if he's still champ, but even then I can see Hatton retiring and not giving Witter his "payday".

Hatton will never fight Witter - but that's OK.

The Boxing Fraternity know Hatton is scared.

Hatton does not care - he and his greedy dad just want the minimum risk and all the cash.

Well done, Ricky we the true boxing fans of the world salute you for the bully and contradiction riddle two faced - money loving git that you are.

castillo and mayweather have been his last 2 opponents.

2 fighters who are better than anything witter has fought,.

and i'd include judah in that.

a worker like castillo would have always beaten judah.

The Groupie returns!

Hello Wonder Woman!

A Shot castillo better than Judah?

You eeeddddiiiiooooottt!

PBF is better - but you forgot to mention that PBF beat the piss out of Hatton!

So - Hatton got beaten to a pulp and you think that is good?

Castillo was knock the fcuk out by Corralles - the Castillo that fought Hatton would have been knocked out by Judah.

WAKE UP!

You really must be waiting for a PM from Hatton - it will not happen - he personally told me you are nothing but a man bitch.

Another sensible hatton thread derailed by this imbecile.

If Paulie doesn't focus on N'Dou first, and fights like he did in Jan, this will be dead in the water anyway.

It does at first glance look like a pointless rematch but you're right. Malignaggi still needs to stay focused for the N'Dou fight as he'll be coming at him for the whole 12 rounds. I'm sure after the Ngodjo fight he'll be well prepared as he knows how close he was to it all going pear shaped in that one.

Can't really fault Hatton fighting an average fighter in a comeback fight on the same bill as Paulie to build up a fight between the two in the summer. Should in be on PPV? Of course not but once you make that step you rarely go back. Should he fight Witter? Of course but surely people are bored of bleating on about it now - it's never going to happen.

Witter has got to try something else, if that means going to Warren if he can put the money up to get a Torres over to fight on one of his bills then he has to leave Hennessey. At the moment they just can't get him the big fights - or any fights for that matter. If he did go over to SN i'm sure at the very least he'd get fights with M'Baye or Rees if he beats Kotelink

Im not so sure Witter would fancy facing the sweede again though... especially if Hennessy didnt win the purse bids.

Another sensible thread? It's just another Hatton bashing thread! I do agree as I have said before that he's ducked Witter, and that's a real shame, but he's also achieved a lot and there are more people on here ridiculously polarised against Hatton than ones supporting him nonsensically.
His more recent matchups have been good, OK he lost to PBF, but the talk of Castillo being shot is very much hindsight on the Hatton fight and wasn't overly apparent before the match.
Hatton gets stick for some of his matchups - some of which is deserved, but I'll give you an example -
Maussa KO's Harris, rnd 7, 2005.
Hatton KO's Maussa, rnd 9, 2005.
Witter KO's Harris, rnd 7, 2007.

Boxrec forum result....................Witter is amazing, Hatton is sh*t.
Please explain??

I agree Hatton needs to fight Witter, and the longer it goes the more blatant the ducking appears. I don't like it, wish the match would be made, but this Hatton bashing is bordering on ridiculous - after the PBF defeat I have no major problem with the Lazcano fight; as a tune up he is taking a reasonably credible opponent, but if in two years time he hasn't gone on to fight Malignaggi and Witter I will be disppointed.

If however, he beats Lazcano, beats Malignaggi, fights Witter in an epic end of career £££ blockbuster and then retires, I couldn't then reasonably say that Hatton had ducked anyone, and also he'd have played a blinder in terms of maximum financial reward.

My position is this - I'm a bit worried that Hatton is ducking Witter, don't like it. He's making relatively credible matchups so I'll see what happens. If he never makes the Witter matchup and they both keep winning, I'll be flinging the mud with the rest of you.

I think it's quite clear now, Lazcano in a big money spinning home coming fight, Malignaggi at the Garden followed by Pacquiao after he beats David Diaz in his attempt to become a 6 weight world champion and plenty of $$$'s. Then happy retirement - if you can call turning into Andy Fordham being happy.

Castillo was picked at the right time, Castillo was probably having problems making 140 even then. No wonder Ricky stopped him with the body shot as his bodies been horrible making 140 and below recently.

I wish the Ring Belt wasn't taken so literally as the belt that matters either. They have the mongoloid mentally of losing the belt In the ring only which means they can defend against who they like. Urango wasn't In the rings top 10 either at the time!

Plus they sold their soul to DLH and gave Vitali their belt maybe off the Influence of being a popular HBO fighter.

1) The Brit fans are screaming for Hatton-Witter
2) HBO have said they're interested in the fight
3) Witter holds the WBC belt in what Hatton says is his natural weight class
4) Hatton and Witter are number 1 and 2 in the LWW division
5) Witter has gone on record saying that he'll take the fight for as little as 100k

so Hatton lines up his next 3 fights with no mention of Witter  (that's treating the fans and the sport with contempt IMO)

Hatton's not even bothered to come out with an excuse for not fighting Junior this time..... as they say in boxing "if you keep going to the well, it will eventually run dry" and it looks like Hattons well of excuses has finally and eventually evaporated
