The living legend Bernard Executioner Hopkins says he started boxing at age six.
Everyone seems to think he started when he was like 23 or something, out of prison.

He also won the national penitentiary middleweight championship three times.
He also was Tony Thornton's chief sparring partner for his fight with Steve Collins, John David Jackson's chief sparring partner for his fight with Chris Pyatt, and Dave Tiberi's chief sparring partner for his fight with James Toney. He's paid his dues.
