I was watching Inside Sport last night and I was thinking how a decent length interview with Junior Witter would help his profile and career over here, so I thought I'd send them a note requesting one.

If anyone else feels like doing the same, there is a section halfway down the right handside of this page where you can e-mail them (DG please don't go into an anti-Hatton rant)

I sent them the following

I'm a self confessed boxing anorak and in my opinion Junior Witter is one of the top 3 most talented boxers in Britain (along with Joe Calzaghe and David Haye), which makes it all the more infuriating that he is struggling to get any meaningful fights due to his limited profile, despite him holding the WBC belt at 140. Demetrius Hopkins was scheduled to fight Junior in the not too distant future, but pulled out due to a disagreement he's had with his uncle Bernard (part of his Goldenboy promotion team) and Ricky Hattons blatant avoidance of Junior is criminal.

Could you see it in your hearts to interview Junior and give him abit of aire time, in the hope that it will give his profile and career a boost and stop one of our greatest talents in a boxing ring from going to waste.

Why doesn't Witter do this himself???

Fed up of hearing that Hatton has got so far with no talent whilst Junior has all the talent in the world but isn't lucky.

If he can't make himself a few decent fights without you writing a letter for him then maybe he doesn't deserve any. Hatton and Witter started on a level playing field, and now all we hear is that Witter hasn't had the breaks.

He's still fighting in front of rubbish audiences in bloody Doncaster. Why is this? He's obviously talented and got a genuine World title, but I hate to break it to you there are plenty more strings required to get to the top of boxing. He was arrogant in his early career before he'd been proven, but apart from that all we ever hear these days is him calling out Hatton.

I've said it loads on here already but noone ever answers. Why can't Junior make fights in the US with Torres, Malignaggi, or even step up to 140 and make big big fights with the likes of Cotto? There's no reason at all we should have to hear Hatton's name linked with Witter, he really really needs to cut his own path!

I am a big fan of Witter, but writing letters like his mum to try and get him some exposure is desperate and sad. What's wrong with him that he can't make his own path with his obvious talent?

I'm gonna rant, it's just really p*ssing me off.

Do you think Inside Sport have had approaches from Witter to do interviews but turned them down? It's like you've come across a real charity case you think needs your help rather than a powerful World Champion who should be able to dictate the terms of his own career.

Maybe if none of the TV companies, journos, big promoters and big fighters will touch him it's you who's missing something? Awkward style, strange attitude at times, and a real propensity to only turn up for about one fight in five. OK he has the skills to blow people away, but this is sadly infrequent, all too often he's in weird tactical matchups where he looks uninterested, switch hitting for no reason other than all Ingle's fighters do.

If he's not marketable no ridiculous begging letters will do it for him, he needs to be more self aware and spend more time employing decent PR people than chasing Hatton who obviously ducks him because Witter makes it possible.

I'm frustrated that Hatton doesn't make the Witter matchup, but also anfry that Witter hasn't done more. That Harris fight aside, he hasn't done much in or out of the ring in my view. That doesn't alter my desire to see the fight, but it's dodgeable for Hatton cause Witter makes it so.

Why wouldn't Golden Boy sign Witter up? Move to the US, sign a low money but short term deal with DLH and make a few big name fights. Win them, renegotiate your money and then you're laughing. It will hurt that he's already a WBC champ and has to go cap in hand to DLH, but it's a damn sight better than getting some boxrec posters to write to the BBC for you.

Defeatist attitude. I wasn't born with money but I'm not gonna sit around saying 'life isn't fair' and calling out my rich cousin. I know where Hatton grew up and it isn't nice, he won't have had an awful lot and has cut his own path even if it did mean brown nosing at times and at others stepping on toes.

The playing field started level. Did PBF have an easy upbringing? Even when he was the best fighter in the world he wasn't overly marketable but was sharp enough to make the changes necessary. What were DLH's beginnings? I bet no better than Witter.
What made Warren pick Hatton for the glory and secretly try to destroy Witter? Other than obvious difference in style I can't say - but if that is it then that's enough difference to show that it's their own actions that separate them. And have continued to separate them - Hatton jumper from Warren when he couldn't - or didn't look like - getting what he wanted. Witter should have done the same and some time ago. He's the master of his own destiny, we all are, and I hope for his sake he doesn't view it as fundamentally unfair like you do!

Do not take my comment to literally.

I am not saying someone can not make a success of their ife.

Just that the road some travelled is sometimes easier than others.

Hatton was unhappy with Warren for many many fightd before he moved. ONCE THE CONTRACT WAS UP!

PBF is a natural.

MY POINT IS Hatton had it easier than WITTER but so what.

Witter has made his way to a British Commonwealth European and the WBC World Title.

I think he should go back to Fwank, but make sure the contracts good for Witter.

I'll have it. He needs someone who can deliver what he deserves, domestically Warren can but any contracts need to be short to give Witter freedom, and he needs to get over the pond too.
