A friend of mine has been experiencing pain in her knuckles from boxing.

I have suggested that her hands might not be wrapped properly, but they're also making her wear 14oz gloves for both sparring and fights. W

Will 16oz make any difference whatsoever?

I had it now and again when I first started training, some pain and one of my knuckles had a weird creaking(?) feeling when I straightened my finger, but after a few months it never happened again. may just be part & parcel of the sport? prob best to ask her trainer though

Her current trainer is a cowboy IMO. I'm trying to find her another trainer in the South, but there isn't many in our area.

The ABA see potential in her, so I don't want some idiot messing it up.

Check to see what punchbags she is using during training as well, this can make a big difference if the bags are to heavy, causes knuckle and wrist damage.

Some peoples hands are more susceptible to damage then others, one tip i've heard is to pad out the bandaging with a sliced open tampon!
apparently this works good.
When i've had problems with my knuckle before i just did technical stuff , not pounding bags or pads, give time for the hand to heal.

Also if the hands in pain dont use it until its fully recovered otherwise it will get worse and worse. Do fitness training until the hands better
