billy graham has been involved in boxing for many years, he is a passionate man but recently we have seen his stable diluted to such a degree that i think now he only trains the hatton brothers as pros.

should ricky lose again (which i feel will end his career) then does billy graham drop the younger hatton and end his association with boxing?

or is it in billys blood and will he re group and find more talent to nurture.

compared to someone like brian hughes, billy still has many more years left.

but , the old cliche surfaces, do trainers make boxers or vice versa. without hatton would graham be recognised as a big time trainer in boxing?

who else has he taken to major pro level?

Graham said a few years back that once Hatton retires, he'll retire too.

He has a place in the US where he is going to retire to and enjoy his love of nature once the Hattons are through.

yes, but once ricky has finished (which wont be long) will billy then drop matthew, as the money will certainly not be flowing...

and who employs billy graham, is it ricky himself or is it 'team hatton'. im not overly convinced that billy graham will be too pleased the way rickys career is now a money chasing one, i think billy would rather ricky proved that he could beat witter. i think billy would rather ricky fought for the public for once and not for his bank manager.

I think Graham is a good trainer., but once Ricky & Matthew Hatton are done, Billy will retire aswell. In fact, Graham's may bow out sooner than we think because he is siffering with his hands after all the years of holding the pds, training, etc.

I remember in the 24/7 build-up program to Hatton-Mayweather, Graham had to have injections in his figner/s because of the pain he was going through. Physically, I think Billy has other problems aswell.

I have respect for Graham because he's willing to listen the next guy's training methods & see if they would work for his own stable. Graham approached Kerry Kayes about learning more diet, nutrition & strength training.

to name a few who either started or went to "The Phoenix" during their careers - you have to give Mr Graham credit where it is due - he has done very well for himself.

Personally - don't like him and don't give a toss what he does - in my opinion he comes nowhere near "The Ingles" or Brian Hughes.

Carl Thompson was already European Champion before Billy was in charge.

Yeah, but Billy took him to the WBO title. Was Billy in the corner for Eubank or was that Maurice Core?

I'd hazard a guess and say that he would honour his commitment to Matthew Hatton as the two are quite close.

I doubt he will bother with Matthew Hatton - MH could be around for another 5 years and that is a long time to wait if you are thinking about retiring.

Maybe can take MH to the Central Area Middleweight title one day.

I am positive I have seen photos of Mike Brodie in the phoenix - with regards Jamie Moore - I am not sure who he was with prior to going with Olly Harrison - I think it was after his defeat to Scott Dixon on the undercard to Arnie Farnell & Takaloo and Hatton/Rowland - that Jamie changed his trainer - not sure who he was with - perhaps Brian Hughes ?? - Not sure.

Steve Bell is now with Arnie Farnell.

Checked with someone and Brodie was there for a bit, but not for long and returned to Ray Farrell who he started his career with and had his most success.

Jamie was never with Brian Hughes. I have a feeling he may have been with Billy for the Dixon fight but can't remember even though I was at that show.

Money is not the motivation for Graham. By his own admission he has more than enough to last him. What he does is for his love of the sport. Personally I think he will quit when Hatton does but could come back if a real talent comes along, but I doubt he would. With Hatton he has done everything, been to the small venues and been to Vegas, they have won world titles at two weights, so early retirement and enjoy life, why not.
