Mine would have to be Ray Robinson against Gene Fullmer with that left hook it was just pure gold.

The best punch I've ever seen was when Memphis Al Jones unexpectedly knocked out Boone Kirkman in April 1974 at the Dallas Sportatorium.

I was working Jones' corner. Kirkman had knocked Jones down four or five times in the first two rounds and was really working him over. When Jones went out for the third, I anticipated that would be the last round - and I was right, but NOT in the way I expected.

As Kirkman was rushing in to administer the coup de grace, Jones let fly with a desperation right hand that about took Kirkman's head off. Kirkman dropped onto his back like he had been shot. He was out a full five minutes, and it was probably fifteen minutes before he could leave the ring.

I thought Jones had killed him.

One of the best punches I ever seen was the right uppercut Razor Ruddock thrown against Mike Dokes, that damn near took his head off.

Tyson hitting Bruno with that uppercut,is quite rememberable to me.

i dont know if its the best ive seen but one that sticks out in my mind is the last lunging left hook Frazier caught ellis with for the last knockdown (first fight) it wasnt the hardest punch hes thrown (probably the Ali knockdown) but it just looked so perfect

It was made more impressive by the fact that Tyson opened Bruno up with a peahc of a punch to the midsection, then followed it up by the uppercut. Devestating combo.

Choosing just one punch as the best I've ever seen is too hard - there just too many to choose from! Another great shot from Tyson was a left hook against Lorenzo Canady. Tyson dipped & come up with a left hook over the top. Very neat move indeed!

FAR too many good ones to nail down a single best.

Most memorable:

Hamed - Kelley - the first knockdown shot where Kelley is trapped in a corner after only two minutes, Hamed is unloading furiously but mostly catching gloves, pauses for barely a tenth of a second, BOOM! Kelley instantly throws a lightning roundhouse right - it looks like normal speed even on the slow-mo replay - that drops Hamed, even though they're both southies.

Easy to see why they called him "The Flash".

That Ruddock 'smash' uppercut he scored on Dokes was scarey. I have to agree with homicide on that one.

Last night I just watched Ike KO Byrd, the left uppercut he landed was not as crisp as some but boy was it nastily well timed.

Early Tyson often would throw and land some nice uppercuts that lifted 200+ lb men of the ground.

I guess some will say the left hook Frtazier floored some one with back in '71.

I believe for a few fights after Memphis Al Jones KO'd Boone Kirkman, he started calling himself Tiger Al Jones.

Must have been a bit later. For his next two fights, I worked his corner and he was still Memphis Al Jones. He was 3-0 with me in his corner! Whoo-Hoo!!

I dont remember who it was against maybe Shuller ? But I remember Hearns throwing some crisp sharp left hooks to the body that dropepd his man. I was young when I saw that fight and it just made me appreciate Hearns near perfect accuracy.

The uppercut that ended Ellis nigt against Shavers was pretty harsh looking in delivery and result.

Marciano's KO of Walcott was numbing.

I know I am biased but some of the jabs Holmes threw and landed always looked damned nice to me.

i think holmes hangs around the top of the best heavyweight jab list.

it was the right cross that tyson threw immediately after your head was jolted upwards by the left uppercut that scared me POW..POW!!!

the left "hookercut" thrown by Ibeabuchi that landed on Chris Byrd's chin. It sounded like a shotgun went off.

What about Rocky Marciano;s right straight that landed full-on JJ Waloctt's face in the 13th round...

That was a killer...

Between the left hook Michael Spinks caught Marvin Johnson with, and the right cross Juan LaPorte caught Rocky Lockridge with.

Hearns was perfect in that Shuller fight. That was one of the first Hearns fights I saw as a kid. I remember thinking he was a heavyweight. I wanted him to fight Tyson. I was young.

Ike's 'hooker cut ' ") was so well timed, landed superbly.

Chris Eubank right hand, 11 rounds in in the Watson rematch, having been battered to a pulp for 11 rounds straight and forced to keep up the pace of lightweight (ie fornicating shattered, barely able to stand), when for once that night he measures Watson's attack, steps in and lets him have it...

Watching it over on DVD, that punch just get's better and better each time you rewind and see it. I did it about 30-40 times the other night, and it just got better and better each time!

That's one of them.

And then obviously the uppercut, after being knocked down (which leaves you even and a lot more tired, anyway) for the first time in his career, in what was perhaps thee best (and greatest) punch I've ever seen thrown (almost running to land it, perfect arc, laced through Watson's near-perfect guard, etc).
