Seriously, there are so many titles out there now, a guy should have to win five or six before he's even considered for the Hall of Fame. A candidate for the Hall should unify a weight class and dominate it for a year or two at least before jumping to another weight.

David Haye has got a chance of getting in there if he builds on his current success. Same with Cotto, who has got even more of a track record. Shane Mosley could well get in, and Joe Calzaghe will

Thats pretty much how I see it. Those guys are automatic and almost all of them will make it the first year that they are eligible.

Winky Wright will probably also make it, though not right away.
I hate to say this, but Wladimir Klitschko will probably eventually make it.

Juan Manuel Marquez has a chance. Had he gotten the decision against Pacquiao he would have a better chance.

Vernon Forrest has an outside chance.

There are some young fighters who will make it but we will have to wait and see who will have great careers and who doesn't.

I agree. I'd add JJM and Israel Vasquez.

WAY TOO early to talk about Pavlik and especially Haye. Who the hell has Haye beat, an old Mormeck and Enzo, he's not yet close to a HOF career IMO.

Klitschko definitely no, but if he unifies the titles and makes a few defenses of course he'll get in by just being the top Heavyweight in a certain time period.

Roy Jones Jr will make it...Anyone else that thinks that he does not deserve to be in must be nuts.

Bernard Hopkins will make it....20 title defenses of the middleweight title speaks for itself.

Felix "Tito" Trinidad will make it....He is still active...There are talks of him fighting Kelly Pavlick. He fought the best of his time, won 3 titles and made 15 title defenses of the IBF welter crown in 6 years.

Oscar De La Hoya will make it...I do not like him, but I got to be OBJECTIVE. He won 4 world titles in 4 different weight classes and fought the very best of his time

Floyd Mayweather, Jr. will make it....Has 5 world titles in 5 different weight classes, has won so far 18 title bouts in a row, undefeated so far in 39 bouts. If he beats Miguel Cotto, Antonio Maragarito and Paul Williams CONVINCINGLY he will definately be a top 20 all-time great. HE IS SO FAR THE BEST OF THIS SORRY DECADE.

Manny Pacquiao will make it...Has 3 world titles in 3 different weight classes starting his career at flyweight and now he is a possibly lightweight fighter. He is so far the runner-up of the best fighter of the decade after PBF. Has beaten the best crop of Mexican fighters of his time so far and is fighting some more.

Marco Antonio Barrera will make it....The best Mexican fighter of this decade. Has fought the very best of his time. Dominated the super bantamweight division and went up all the way to jr lightweight, winning 2 titles along the way. Had 3 memorable wars with countryman and also hall of famer Erik Morales, winning 2 out of 3.

Erik Morales will make it....He is only the second Mexican ever to win 3 world titles in 3 different weight classes and fought the best of his time. He is the ONLY Mexican to beat convincingly, the great Manny Pacquiao.

Sugar Shane Mosley will make it...He has won 3 world titles in 3 different weight classes and beat twice Oscar De La Hoya. Won the lightweight title making 8 title defenses of the IBF crown, all by KO. He was the best lightweight of the 90s and one of the 20 greatest lightweights of all-time.

Evander Holyfield will make it...Forget of what he has done this decade...This decade is not his. But if we talk of the 80s and 90s, he was the best cruiserweight of the 80s, the best cruiserweight fighter of all-time, unifying all the cruiser titles, was the best heavyweight of the 90s and beat the great Mike Tyson TWICE, like it or not. He fought the very best heavyweights of his time: Lennox Lewis, Riddick Bowe, George Foreman, Tyson of course, Ray Mercer, Buster Douglas, Michael Dokes, Larry Holmes, Alex Stewart, and Chris Byrd among others.

James Toney will make it...Quietly these days and time he is still fighting and won 3 world titles in 3 different weight classes. Was not in great shape in many of his important fights and lacked discipline, but had the boxing skills to back it up. He has so far more fights than all the fighters mentioned above. Something VERY RARE in these days and time.

Winky Wright will make it...He is the ONLY UNDISPUTED SUPERWELTERWEIGHT CHAMPION OF THE DIVISION HISTORY SINCE the titles were broken up. He beat Shane Mosley twice and beat also Felix "Tito" Trinidad with ONE HAND: THE JAB.

Joe Calzaghe will make it...He is the greatest supermiddleweight fighter of all-time. The best super middleweight figther of the 2000s decade for sure.

I do not know if Zab Judah, Ricky Hatton, Wladimir Klitschko, Juan Manuel Marquez, Joel Casamayor, and Miguel Cotto will make it...They need probably more fights.

Well, I think there are many guys that most of us agree on will make it for sure.

I don't think Israel Vasquez has a very good chance; it's rare that guys who weren't "legends' at those low weight classes make it.

Casamayor is probably a borderline case; he wouldn't be the worst fighter elected but the vast majority are better.

I can't see Judah making it unless he does something big before his career is over.

Too early to tell for Cotto, but he seems to be on the right track.

It will be interesting to see how the Hall of Fame voters decide things 5-10 years from now.

If they just look at WBS title belts won and inflated win/loss records against weak competition, then Hatton and other guys have a better chance. If they actually look at how good the fighter was and how he did when he fought elite competiton, than they won't make it.

You also have to keep in mind that these guys are also competing for votes against other fighters who have been retired for years but haven't made it yet.

I don't know if he has officially announced retirement but Tszyu is definately going to be a hall of famer. One of the things I like most about Kostya was that he had no problems travelling to an opponents backyard to defend his belts.

A quick think reveals there are more current fighters headed for the HOF than first thought...sadly, more a case of great fighters hanging on far too long, rather than a proliferation of great fighters in the current era.
