He'd just landed two good punches and was throwing back and in the fight!!!!

That's a really bad stoppage. Still, could turn out to be best thing that happened to Lee. What was all that smiling before the first round, as if he was in the gym about to have a light sparring session! Over confident!

The ref literally could have stopped that fight at any time for the last 2 rounds. I have never seen such a blatant disregard for literally any form of defence from two boxers.
Lee was out on his feet, and although he did land a couple of shots I really think the ref did the right thing.
How many clean shots do we want to see a boxer take?

Can't remember where i read/heard it but apparently Lee's eyes rolled back in his head from the last right hand from Vera and the ref jumped in as soon as he saw that not knowing that he wasn't 'gone'.

Early stoppage, but the ref probably did Lee a favour

agree, Lee would have got stopped anyway, maybe his corner would have pulled him out at the end of the round.

Jesus! I didn't know that Jon. I'll take back my comment that the stoppage was a little early.

He did well to land on Vera with that last left hook then.

The stoppage wasn't bad. If it had happened in a previous flurry people might not even be complaining now. Andy Lee was not coming back.

just watched it on youtube, timing of the stoppage was bad, but only because it should hav been stopped earlier. He was out on his feet.

Just watched in on Boxing USA on Five US.

Pretty early stoppage, but I would like to think Steward would have pulled him out during the break anyway.

If he is supposed to be as great as we are being told(mainly by Steward, granted), he can come again.

Rematch has to happen surely?

I think one of Vera's people ruled it out. Probably a good idea as I don't think Lee would make the same mistakes again.
