Foreman robbed

I heard a story that Foreman was robbed in 1970's when he was still a world champ, and lost $100. The police asked him why he didn't fight the robber. Foreman replied that he would not ever fight for only $100.

Has anyone heard this story before? Is it true or just bulsshit?

Is probably bullshit, considering Foreman before becoming a boxer, used to beat the shit out of old drunks for cigarettes or a few dollars just to get enough booze to drink.

Apparently Dempsey did not have the same "professional standard". He seemed quite willing to whup on a few knuckleheads that attempted to rob him.

Sad thing is, Dempsey beat the hell out of the twenty something year old guys when he was in his 70's and done had a stroke a few years previously!

The Dempsey story is true. Doubt Foreman got robbed, as someone mentioned, when he was young, he had quite a rap (the Police sure had a lot to say about him, LOL) as a street fighter of note. Not surprising, when you consider the way he could hit. Now take off the gloves, & let him hit bare. It'd be carnage.

Not sure about that but I know Patterson beat up some guys who tried to rob him and Billy Conn who was in his 60's or something beat up some guys who were trying to hold a store he said he just went into fight mode and threw his straight left.

Henry Armstrong got robbed and beaten badly by some s.o.b.s when he was doing poorly in his life after boxing(I think he was a wino basically),when they went through his wallett and realised who he was they dropped him off at the hospital,or his home, can't remember for sure.
He addressed this in his autobiography.

Ricky hatton was robbed in China, and he's lost his Rolex watch.
I think it's around 2006, when he was still a champ.

We had a CYO HW champion in my old neighborhood in the city, back around 1973, who got taken out permanently by a 5 ft nothing guy with a blade after an argument. Nobody is invinceable.

I heard "almost" the same story. It was something about Holyfield coming back home and discovering a thief who was just plundering his place (apparently it was before he got his palace, since one can hide an army there ;-) ). When the police came they were somehow suprised the thief was still without a bruise, and Holyfield replied that the crap he had there wasn't worth any fight.

I'm not sure it is true, but (comparing Holyfield with young Foreman) I would say it sounds more reliable.

It's about Ricky hatton. he was robed when he was on vacation in China 2 years ago. He walked alone, and maybe 5-6 6 street gang members surrounded him, and he had no choice unless to give his expy Rolex watch.
