Why didn't these win Lonsdale Belt

its always supprised me why Frank Bruno, Nigel Benn, Chris Eubank, and Michael Watson never fought for the British titles in their respective weight class. Each one of the above could easily have won the title but never fought for it. Why is that do you think.

Bruno, in his defence, was stablemate to champ Neville Meade; it's more obvious with the other three. Think of a Sheffield southpaw you couldn't hit and carried a clout.
