When someone mentioned that Mundine was considering andother go at Solimon I thought it was a bad Joke. Now I see it's in Boxrec schedule I am pissed right off.
Mundine wastes another year and celebrity saps in Sin City will lap it up.
Don't buy this crap,
Phone sports radio
Don't do what I have previously done and make excuses for these fights.
I don't care if your are a muslim, catholic, Jew or atheist You have no obligation to support this rubbish.
Thats it I have got this off my chest......
One more thing....
Should Anthony be considered any better, historically speaking, than Paul Ferarri, Tony Mundine or Hector Thompson?
Grant
Out!

NO he shouldn't. Apart from Danny (and the literally shot Echols) the best boxers he has been in with have resulted in a loss (Ottke, Kessler, Siaca). He has proved nothing yet. Even Ferreri fought around the world and defended Commonwealth titles, when they meant more than they do now. Mundine needs to get some stamps on his passport. Even his old man travelled more that him, and, although Tony has some detractors, he did fight up and down the weight classes. Don't know much about Hector Thompson though. Brute will know.

To not have Green fighting anymore is one thing, But this crud fight is another..... I never wanted to comment on this shit as it makes me so ashamed to have been a fan on Mundines. :x
Also if it goes the distance (The fight with Soliman) Mundine should really look at retirement.

Not far enough away, obviously
Mundine should be ashamed of himself. And i'd be surprised if Sydneysiders swallow this garbage of a fight

I haven't watched a Mundine fight since the Green fight. Has anyone seen ppv comparitive numbers from his earlier fights to his more recent ones? Surely they must have dwindled.

I would never pay to watch Mundine fight anyway.

Mundine has brilliant talent but to seem him waste it is shocking. He should be doing better by now and he had the style, but not the temperament sadly, to beat Kessler.
I give him a lot of credit for becoming more assertive in the ring and putting masterclasses on Green and Soliman. His defence is great, his punches fast and sharp, and he can win a real title if only he'll step up.
But now he needs to do something. Mundine was on about going down to middle, a while back. If he can physically do it, he should go down and challenge Pavlik. Enough is enough. The WBA "regular" belt is horrid.
He had the eye problem & got over it. I thought his recovering & coming back would make him never take things for granted, to make up for wasted time with real fights. But it doesn't appear so.

Ottke did not KO many fighters, but he left young Anthony comatose on the mat.

This may be why Kessler has pulled out of the Miranda fight. The only explanation Kessler would give is that he may have a world title fight. Kessler beats Mundine easily........

I heard Kessler was Mundine's mandatory & that a rematch could happen.
However, Mundine's style is hard for Kessler, Mundine will probably have home advantage again and Mundine is more aggressive these days. Lack of aggression is what let him down last time. Kessler - who was injured last time - -will be better and Mundine will be better, so it should be a good fight.
About time Mundine had a real opponent.

I think those are the two reasons he wasn't KO'd last time. In saying that I should also say that I still believe that was his best showing despite clearly losing...

What Mundine has proven is that a good rugby player can become a pretty decently rated boxer...though he is born of good stock.
When does the two time winner ask to fight the loser?
The trouble is the people who pay to see this fight are people who are starved to see ANY fight of a big nature.
Not necesarily boxing puritans...but just fans who recognise names and buy into what Maxim or Fox News tells them.
I like Sam, he seems like a pretty cool guy and is always fun to watch,
I don't intend to watch this fight.

Mundine defense threatened!
Mundine-Soliman III not sanctioned
Mikkel Kessler promoter Mogens Palle said Wednesday that he has checked with the World Boxing Association and has been informed that a May 28 super middleweight title defense by Anthony Mundine against Sam Soliman has not been approved. Mundine has announced the third bout against Soliman is set for the Vodafone Arena in Melbourne, Australia. Palle said the WBA had not even been asked to authorize Mundine-Soliman III. "Mundine won a vacant title in March 2007 and has now gone 13 months without making a required mandatory defense. We have asserted our rights and told the WBA we're ready to make Kessler-Mundine II a reality in the end of May or the start of June....I would hope Mundine would prefer to try Kessler again rather than having his world title stripped for not complying with WBA rules. He does refer to himself as 'The Man' so I would really hope so. It is a WBA world title and is not limited to a WBA Australian title." Former champion Kessler, now the WBA mandatory challenger, previously outpointed Mundine in June 2005.
