sorry if this sounds personal it aint, but when will the so called golden boy sid ever have a real fight, hes now 30yr old turned pro amist much publicity in yorkshire in 2002 has a 21-0 record and hasent fought anyone with even a remotely decent record, is someone fooling his large asian following in bradford?

i noticed this when i looked at his record this morning, sid has some half decent skills but now is the time to push on a bit to find out if he has the tools to progress...

After one of Sid's fights remember going for a curry at one of Sid's sponsors - an amazing place with good scoff.

Sid is a nice guy and I feel the Ingles have looked after very well indeed - it is Sid who has the choice - The Ingles can match him higher if he insists on it.

yeah i know what you mean, and we are looking at it from a boxing fans perspective and not a 'sids mate' perspective.

the thing is, there is no level to what an unbeaten fighter has the potential to achieve, sid looks good, has good support, so lets see him knocking on the doors of the top domestic scene. now is the time i feel.

ive seen him box quite a few times and true he does seem to have potential and good support but his fights are little more than exibition bouts against fighters with bad losing records as a fight fan id just like to know if he can actually fight amist the ridiculossly padded record.

if you have seen him box a number of times - I ask what is your motive for slagging Sid?

Are you from a rival gym or something like that or do you have allegiences to a previous or future opponent?

I saw an interview with him and he said he was only a part time boxer. Doesn't he have a good job or something? I dont think hes really that into boxing, he said he does it to 'keep fit & look good' (paraphrasing)

Siddy has talent - but does not have the focus or hungar to need to step up any further.
He's got to area title level, won it, and despite the odd interview here and there, talking it up, doesn't aspire to a level beyond this.
What's wrong with that ?
What's wrong with him having a great following, even at this level ?
He's got strong business interests that take care of the pounds shillings and pence.
Good luck to the kid - not everyone needs to shout from the rooftops and proclaim to be the next coming - there's room for all levels in boxing.
As for the starter of the thread, I too wonder what is the motive behind this.

Chill out guys! Its a fair question for us to ask of any boxer who racks up 21 wins, when are you gonna step up sonny jim?

But if Siddique doesn't need to, that puts him in a very unique situation compared to most boxers, but fair enough. Why not make a little payday on the side?

im not trying to slag sid it would apply to any other fighter who had been pro for nearly six years had a 21-0 record but had not yet had a competetive bout. as you know he was projected as a future star. [and may still be one] again as a fight fan all i want to know is wether there is any substance in the hype, if hes only doing it to keep fit fair enough but lets not try and promote him as anything else.

Fair dos and respect to you - I have met Sid on a number of occasions - like all of the lads from the Ingle Gym - he is a top man - except Junior Witter of course!!! Nope serious Junior Witter is like a completely different person when them cameras are not on him - top bloke and very quiet and reserved I would argue.
