I know its still a few weeks away but lets get some views and some votes. This is a tough one for Carl Froch and I think its his biggest test yet. The two have met before as amateurs and Inkin got the decision on points although Carl had him over in the final round. Both have perfect records and there is a lot at stake for both men. This is a final eliminator for the SMW title. Will Carls style let him down at this higher level or will his power shots destroy Inkins 0. Inkin can bang too and hes quick so will he catch Froch who keeps his hands low. This looks a cracking fight in this incredible double event top of the bill on ITV.

Wow - until this thread went up - I have been shouting from the rooftops on what a world class boxer Carl Froch is.

I have not changed that opinion - but now this fight is almost upon us - you have got to say this Inkin fella is no pushover.

I think that is the real question about Froch.

Only a few fighters can get away with this kind of no defence, reliance on reflex style at the top level. Is Froch one of them I don't think so. He is not a Roy Jones he just gets hit too much. Inkin applies constant pressure and will love Carl's style.

I think inkin takes this one. at 5/2 i'll definately be having a bet.

And what about Froch's offensive work - it is all very well stating Inkin will like Froch's style - will he be able to take Froch's stinging jab and sometime unorthdox punches which come from all angles?

I am acknowledging this is a close fight - but Froch due to his style is I feel very underrated on this and other forums.

Yeah was watchin that the other day. Veit is no mug but inkin smothered him. I think froch will need to be a bit more respectful i.e. gloves up but a leapoard does not change its spots.

Inkin uses angles very well and has a great mix of punches. Froch is very skillfull but i am a big fan of inkin and think he will win

For me Veit is certainly nowhere near as good as Froch - in addition IMO Inkin is wide open for the Froch jab as I previously stated before - in addition he is a tadge smaller than I thought.

Clearly going to be a good fight and one in which Carl will not get things his own way - but yep I am pretty sure Carl will win.

hopefully carl will win and get a shot at a title, joe will stay at light heavy i think so it will be good to see carl as champ

Amateurs are different so hopefully carl can pull it off , it may help that inkin had that virus

Could work to Inkin's advantage. Denis will have his chin low; Carl's will be up in the air. Against the correct (technically speaking) Inkin, this wil be the vital test of Froch's defence/style.

this is gonna be a teriffic fight which could go literally either way, fair play to both of them for taking/making this matchup.

i wouldnt want to put money on it but i would say froch late stoppage.

I think we might see a slower more cautious Dennis Inkin picking his shots rather than storming in. We know Froch has a good chin and he will need to have as Inkin can bang. He also targets the body which can make you lose the heart to win. Hatton style behind the ribs has won him fights so I am told by a friend in Germany. This is going to be a very tough fight for Froch, he hasnt faced anyone like Inkin before. As with the Haye/Macca fight which we knew would end with a KO so will this one but which way will it go. Both men have the potential to take the other out and I say its a 50/50. I want to see Froch win for selfish reasons because I want to see the continuation of boxing on ITV. I cant claim to be a Froch fan because I dont care for his arrogance. I should I know, because like him I live in the East Midlands. I think Amir Khan is on Setanta for his next fight and who knows Warren may keep him there so its vital Froch wins.

It's a great fight, a real clash of prospects, a lot better than some of the so called world title fights out there.

Not an easy one for Carl, but in a fairly even looking fight between two good punchers, go for the guy with the better chin, and that's Froch.

I haven't what the fuss is about with Inkin to be honest. Obviously good, but there have been some mumurs that he is actually the natural successor to Calzaghe - not Kessler... I don't see that myself.

Infact... I would actually like to see Inkin vs Braehmer for the German based #1 Super Middle. I don't know who I would pick there.

Having said that... not sure Froch is all that either, anymore. I thought his handspeed looked poor at stages vs Reid.

RR caught Froch with a big one but nobody on here ackowledged it. Froch didnt look so good afterwards even though he did stop Reid.

I thought Froch looked awful against Reid. He took them well but how a reflex reliant fighter like Froch can be caught by those slow, predictable haymakers from Reid i'll never know.

Fancy him to win by stoppage here in a competitive fight (uppercut in 8') but feel he would lose to the likes of Kessler, Mundane and Bute

From the limited footage I've seen Inkin looks like a short, typical European fighter to me. Nothing stands out about him at all. If Froch is as good as some people on here think he is then he should win this fight impressively.

I'll put it like this, Calzaghe and Kessler would beat Inkin comfortably from what I've seen, so let's see what Froch can do.

People like Autobarn rated Inkin after he beat Veit but then the class chin stuff came out as soon as he gets matched with Froch.

If Inkin has a good right hand he can give Froch problems.

I am positive I am correct in stating - Froch has never been put on his arse as an amateur or a professional boxer.

I don't understand peoples fear about Froch's chin - yeah okay sometimes he may have been stunned here and there - f*ck me I remember a while back him having a couple of problems with Charles Adamu but he got over it - and in addition I don't think there is a boxer in the world who hasn't been stunned momentarily in the odd fight or 2.

Froch is a class performer with a good chin - it would take a top top boxer to stop him - and BTW Calzaghe is not the man to do it either!!!
