Any news on Ian Napa?

Guys not fought since Novemeber when he schooled Power. He's one win from the Lonsdale outright which he so deserved and has a nice little James Toney/Mayweather like style.
Hope he gets a fight soon.
He had an active 2007 and he's one of my favourite fighters to watch.

Frank Maloney just announced that Napa will be defending against Colin Moffett on May 2nd, on the undercard of Rendall Munroe v Salem Bouaita.
This should be a straight forward defense for Napa

Well that means Napa has got the belt out right then, fair play to him.

Think it shows the lack of talent in the division, Booth is probably the most natural match to make.
Its 1 win apiece for Napa and Booth, and Jason has gone on to win the Commonwealth title since losing to Napa.
Maybe they will look at a double title clash in the late summer.

Moffett is the Irish champion, so I think he is alright for a voluntary defence.

I remember watching Moffet years ago on a Eurosport Bill (think Darren Corbett was headlining)... thought he would make it to the British championship. Hasn't really fulfilled his potential.

Moffett is better than his record suggests and is coming off the back of a career best win over Eugene Heagney and if memory serves me correctly he once beat Chris Edwards.
On the subject of Heagney, anyone know why he didn't fight Matthew Edmonds the other night?

Well, if Moffett holds his own, he'd be a welcome addition do the new Super Flyweight ranks.
Like to see Napa there too mind.

Don Broadhurst has also said he'd like to go for the domestic Super Fly title as well, and compete in the Flyweight division internationally

Instead of adding a new division, why couldn't they just as 3 more pounds to the Flyweight division Instead?

Heagney pulled out 3 weeks before fight with Matthew Edmonds we were told he had flu.

Thanks Jamie. Heagney is decent and pretty tall for the weight, was just watching his scrap with Moffett this morning in fact on DVD. Any word on a rescheduled fight with Edmonds? I imagine it would be a good one.

Not sure at the moment. We would like to make the fight as there are not that many domestic oppponents at the lower weights but I'm not sure if Heagney wants the fight..........
Edmonds can also make Super Fly.
