How Witters Post Fight Interview On ITV should go....

Assuming he wins. He has a great chance to get his message out to a MASSIVE audience.
Hatton stop running and face your no.1 challenger. Define your career and try to beat me. EARN your shot at a rematch with Mayweather.
A little bit better worded though :)

well, somehow I don't think Witter will just be talking about the Bradley fight or the interviewer not mentioning hatton...
he's called out hatton with far less exposure than this, he'll definitely be thinking in a big way about how to add credence to it for the big audience.

I just hope he doesn't forget to train his body as hard as he'll need to train his mouth! Whilst it is probably a year too early for Bradley, he is a live challenger without a doubt, and another Harris level performance will be required.

If he doesn't put on a good display, and is involved in one of his less engaging encounters, it's no good him calling Hatton out afterwards.
He's been involved in some stinkers over the years, with obvious flashes of brilliance. Let's hope he can put on a show which makes him look fearless and then I'd like to see him say:
"I've been calling Hatton out for a number of years, and we're both at the top of the division. This could be a real Benn-Eubank rivalry, and bigger than Maccarinelli-Haye. I have to admire the way that they put politics aside and made the match up, and hope that Hatton will do the same and prove what a great champion he is. I have made no secret of the fact that I am more than happy with a substantially lower portion of the purse, and acknowledge that Hatton has achieved a lot. I can't keep calling Hatton out, my cards are on the table. Any disrespect you think I've shown you Ricky I apologise for, there should be no obstacles in giving the public on both sides of the atlantic a real contest of the top two LWWs in the world. It'd be a crying shame if we never fight and I have done everything I can."
Then we would ideally never hear Witter mention Hatton's name again, and Hatton would have no excuse whatsoever not to make the fight. The money aspect would be covered, the 'insults' aspect addressed. It's appalling that Witter will have to eat humble pie to mkae the fight happen as he's WBC champ, but needs must and he acknowledges that Hatton is infinitely better marketed than he is.
First and foremost though, he can't be involved in a stand offish 12 round UD. That will lower his stock more than anything. Needs to go in all guns blazing and get tagged if necessary.

It would be interesting if N'Dou beat Paulie, and then Witter knocked out N'Dou and Paulie. And Hatton fought Mayweather in December, a year on, at Wembley, and got knocked out again.
You never know. Hehehe.

I thought Ngoudjo was definately the mandatory after his robbery against Malignaggi.

Nope. IBF wants more money:
DiBella Entertainment won yesterday's IBF purse bid for the IBF jr. welterweight eliminator for #1 between Herman Ngoudjo and Souleymane M'Baye, however it will be GYM (Groupe Yvon Michel) promoting the event. "Lou DiBella was kind enough to act upon our behalf," Yvon Michel told Fightnews. "We had already filled in the paperwork and registration but the IBF rules said we had to be registered for 30 days and we fell a couple days short. In fact it was the same case for allegedly who had Branco Sports bid for him. The IBF is fully aware of the situation and we are in the process to officially transfer everything to us. We expect the show to be in May or June."

ARE YOU HATTON?
If he does it your way he should have a 7 foot chicken in Boxing gloves with a 'Hatton is a chicken' T-Shirt on while he says it!
He should tel the boy to grow a pair and stop takking out of his bottom.

Depends HOW he delivers it!
Ali made a habit out of doing it - I think the public would laugh and warm to it and WANT to see the fight!
AND
The others would want to see the ARROGANT WITTER beaten my Hatton.
Then they might fight!!!

You're obviously a lot more arsed about how Witter looks than the fight actually happening. I think you love being able to moan about the fight not taking place.
If you read my post it's a way of saying 'we're the top two, let's get it on' without coming across as arrogant as he often does.
Your trouble is you're a boxing snob. You don't realise that the vast majority of people who watch (and the ones who pay the cash) don't care about anything other than their own man, and many only go off how the fighters come across. Most of the audience will never have heard of Vivian Harris, that's a fact. If Junior comes across badly and Hatton can give excuses then they're not bothered, Hatton can always figth someone else.
Unlike you, I am fed up of the fight not happening. Junior needs to take a portion of responsibility for allowing Hatton so many excuses.
If he came out and said what I posted, OK he'd offend you by looking too soft but he'd leave Hatton nowhere to run.
I'm defo not Hatton but the more of your posts I read the more you sound like Witter!! I've said it before I've met Witter and asked him about Hatton, and I have a sneaky suspicion that all his calling out of Hatton is a smokescreen. He certainly didn't sound very confident to me, and I think it suits him to be able to say that Hatton wouldn't fight him.
On that basis, Witter is in it for the money as much if not more than Hatton, or he'd move on. Sounds to me like he's not worried about whether he'd win or lose vs Hatton, he wants desperately to make that fight for the payday.

And it doesn't sound like a man who's begging at all, just one who's fed up of having to chase Hatton. Read it again.

Its about opinions - you have your way and I have mine.
ALSO
Witter has been NICE. no fight.
Witter has done what all fighters do - hype himself - no fight.
Witter gets a 7ft Chicken on ITV with a 'Hatton is a Chicken' T Shirt and a pint.
What do you think will stick in the mind?
YOUR ' Hello Mr Hatton - we are number 1 and 2 we should fight'.
OR
While facing the Chicken with the Microphone in his hand LIVE ON ITV say to the chicken..
'Ricky - Stop being a coward and fight the beat LWW in the World - I am THE World Boxing Council Champion - you do not hold a recognised BELT so come and FIGHT ME for the most prestigious belt or are you going to run scared as you have done for the last 8 years!
Then ITV interviewer puts the mic under Chicken Hatton's beak
'Do you want to fight Junior Witter and if not why not?'
Chicken turns and runs!

Witter should ask, "How can a champion ignore another champion?"
Hope Witter keeps on winning and hopefully looks good as well. I think Witter won't ever get the "defining fight" but if he can keep the fitness and focus and ring intelligence, he may end up with more world title defenses than any Brit bar Lewis and Calzaghe. Witter has a belt that actually enforces mandatories - take not Calzaghe - so if Junior keeps winning we should give him credit.

He'd be about 50 by the time he beat Eubank and Naz's 15-20?

What if chicken Hatton replies:
"Well how many were there tonight Junior? My next fight is gonna be headlining a packed MSG against Malignaggi, then I'm gonna go back to Vegas and fight PBF again in front of a PPV audience of millions. So unfortunately I can't fit you in just now."
Witter then has to look like he's begging. And he is, cause he needs Hatton.

By the way, I'm not slating Witter's ability. I acknowledge that he's top quality, world class.
My only criticism is that he has been involved in a lot more boring fights than the boxrec community recognise, his stoppage of Harris can be looked on as overrated.......
(I've asked the question before -
seeing as Maussa knocked out Harris (in the 7th) in 2005, then in his next fight same year Hatton stops Maussa. Two years later Witter stops Harris.
Why then does Witter get lauded for beating top quality opposition, but Hatton get derided for fighting poor quality opposition? Maussa beat Harris two years before Witter, meaning at that time Maussa was a much more credible opponent than Harris. You're not logically telling me that Harris is a bigger scalp two years on, and far superior to Maussa on the record?
It's pretty hypocritical. have asked this before but that thread stayed quiet.
Like I said, not trying to slight Junior, I do rate him, but this Boxrec forum is massively polarised towards him and very anti-Hatton. I agree they need to fight, but let's keep it in perspective.

"I dont want to talk about Hatton, he's an overweight, greedy, pie eater who's only interested in money and fighting veterans and retired fighters.
Its only a matter of time before he's wrestling or appearing on Celebrity Fat Club, he's not interested in real fights. Let him drink guiness, print money and become a stand-up comedien.
I want opponents who are hungry for honour and titles, not pies and money.
And he doesn't want me because he knows, and has known for ten years, that I would make him look the the stiff, predictable fat boy he really is, oh yeh, and knock him out too.
Remember everyone, I said I would fight him for FREE. I don't want his money. I'd fight him for FREE, no strings. He can take the millions, which is all he's interested in, and I'll take the knockout victory."
Remember, I'm the champion. And I'll fight him for FREE. FREE! Hear that Ricky. For FREE, you can keep your precious money."
I'd think that would do it.

Oh I dunno. I'm just playing along.
Hatton has had umpteen opportunities to accomodate Witter. I think Ricky believes he'd beat Witter and always has but circumstances and increasingly flimsy excuses have gotten in the way.
For years I though Witter would beat Hatton, I waivered when Witter looked average versus Lynes and Kotelnik but those opponents have subsequently performed well to slightly legitimise Witter's subdued performance.
However, I think Hatton is in terminal decline. I do not believe he craves competition in the same way he did, now it is about money - which is fair enough, he's getting punched in the head - and undoubtedly the superfights raise the profile of boxing temendously and have been a key catalyst to the rebirth of the sport - but they're not the fights the more informed observer wants.
Mayweather was an exceptional opponent and Ricky was correct, ultimatley, to do whatever he had to secure that bout. However, to counternance a rematch at Welterweight by beating the likes of Lazcano and perhaps Torres, Holt or Hopkins at 140 is ridiculous.
Hatton has become an event fighter, rather than a fighter's fighter, and he isn't the force he was. He isn't as quick, as active, as dynamic or as well conditioned.
I think he's over-done the weight lifting - and I'm a lay-person on the subject - but he isn't the 12 round force he was, he's not as swift on his feet, he doesn't throw combinations, he's easier to hit and he's vbecome predictable. Despite the credibility of his victory over Castillo, I think we can all see shadows over that performance - Castillo was either shot or poorly motivated because of other circumstances.
Take away the Castillo win and try to sum up the effective rounds Ricky has fought since he beat Tsyzu with a style of performance, perfect for the job but one which discarded many of the strengths and habits Ricky displayed in learning his craft, and its a small, shallow body of work.
Since then Ricky has struggled and been cut versus bean-pole Maussa, a fighter who has collapsed as a legit world contender since, boxed well for 5 or 6 versus Urango before gassing out and hugging and holding to a points win, been in a tight scrap with Collazo at Welter, where he was easy to hit and struggled with the strength of Cllazo.
He then fought poorly, in part because of Cortez's input, against Mayweather - lost his intensity, variety and was easy to hit coming and going out. Couldn't land clean against, admittedly, a defensive virtuoso.
Now back at 140, which will presumably kill Ricky to make, he's fighting a guy without a win in two years who is old and has lost 7 bouts. From that distinctly mediocre launch pad he will presumably win a belt at 140 against someone like Kotelnik or Torres and repackage himself at 147 once more for a major pay day next spring.
Crickey. I'd have infinitely more respect had he fought Witter to claim that 140 title. It's an obvious fight, it makes millions here and Witter is far more worthy a preperation for a rematch with Mayweather than anyone else Hatton can face.
I dunno, I really like Ricky, but he doth protest too much and his repeating how sincere he is eventually causes suspicion among fans. You can't argue with 55,000 attendees ad he would fill Wembley for Mayweather too. He's a ticket selling phenonmenon and a wealthy man, so clearly he's done something right.
But I'd have more respect if he said "I'm not fighting Junior because its a risky fight for miniumum reward, the Americans dont like him and in victory I'd still look awkward and on occasion clumsy - not the best way to sell a rematch with Floyd Mayweather."
Thats the truth, and I like to here the "people's champion" get back to the truth.
