none of the coverage has mentioned that they DONT - which would be the unusual thing - so i would say yes, AFAIK

Prize money tournaments with heavyweights fighting over 3 rounds used to be the big thing back in the 1960s and all the fights are recorded on the boxrec annals of history - For example Walsall heavyweight Billy Gray fought in a few of them and his progress are record in the WDL columns.
The fights this friday will be recorded as a win/loss/draw etc.

I was wondering, when I read about this event, that I have never been aware of a pro fight contested over 3 rounds.
Is this a first? And/or whether the fact that it's just 3 rounds means that the results will not be recorded on pro records and therefore will not be sanctioned.
Just an obvious observation to me, but does anyone know?

Well the fighters are getting paid and the promotion is being sanctioned by the BBB of C and if this wasn't the case then I would go volunatarily on a camping trip with purple aki but I think I'm safe in my assesment!
Therefore the fights will be recorded down on here as a sanctioned fight. There have been 9 rounders, 7 rounders and 5 rounders before now in this country and a lot of the tournemant fights which were popular in the 1960s used to be over 3 rounds anyway.
I think I'm stating the bleedin' obvious here but I think we need someone

Contender scores and the Cedric Kushner tournament scores all used to go on the record so i would imagine these will too. Looking forward to this one now.

For some strange reason Carlos I missed your previous post before mine asking the question.
I'm absolutely certain that those taking part will get paid - but even amateurs get paid nowadays across a range of sports.
I just wondered about the 3 rd distance - never came across the like of it or read about it in the professional game at all. But thanks for the reply smartarse.

David Pearce fought in a heavyweight contest, scheduled over 3 rounds. The fights are recorded on BoxRec.

They do.
For example, James Toney's loss during one Prizefighter event is on his record.

It took you eight years, but thanks for the confirmation.

I never realised the thread was that old.
I rarely pay attention to dates.
