Howard scored an excellent stoppage win over Tony Booth in his last fight but is now up against former Cuban international Mike Perez in Dublin tonight.

All I can say for Howard (or his managment) is that they have no shortage of guts and bottle - for a boxer learning his trade, he is on the apprenticeship for pyschos!

Howard has copped some unfair flak on here so I will be the first to say good luck and best wishes for Howard tonight!

For those who may be thinking of going, it's on the other side of Ireland (to Dublin) in Castlebar.

Perez after 2 quick wins got took the distance last time out, Howard has definatly got guts, but will be up against it here. If he can go the distance , that will be good enough. But i can't see him winning

I wasnt too impressed by Perez the last time out. I felt that he knew early on that he could KO his opponent and was intending to go for it in the final rounds. He seemed to just run out of steam in the final rounds and those rounds were sloppy.

Fingers crossed Perz has learnt a little more and puts on a good show tonight in Castlebar.

If anyone is interested I have some footage of Perez sparring, mail me and I'll sort something out for a temp upload.

Hoawrd is as game as a badger - you have to give him that!

Lets hope Perez shows up under motivated, unfit and without focus. It would be good to see Demolition Daley steal his '0'

This one caught my eye as well. Perez was originally slated to meet another Eastern European but Howard's name cropped up instead and at least we know he will be aggressive and offer a bit more for Perez to think about.

Perez laboured a bit last time out after toying with his man in the 1st and went the 6, picking up an injury en-route. Daley can give him a workout that's for sure.

Gareth, I wasn't that impressed either but i reckon Perez just wanted the extra rounds in the ring and his management told him to stay in there and get some rounds under his belt, his two previous fights didn't even last a round! but hopefully tonight he doesn't waste anytime!

While Magee and MaCauley felt Perez showboated away knowing that he could finish it at any point, i disagree slightly. I think after the first couple Perez realised that the Pole was durable enough and was worried about blowing his gasket.

Perez we forget is still a very young man and needs time to flourish and grow into a quality heavyweight. The potential is there anyway and if he finishes Daley tonight then hopefully they can keep him active and get him out again in the another few weeks. I think Howard's style will maybe suit the Cuban as he will no doubt come forward and present an opening.

I agree am I said it at the time the guys is looking ring time. In the 1st he knocked his opponent and I felt at that point he/the team decided get the rnds in and KO him in the 5th 6th rnd. The problem was by the 5th Perez was shattered too and no longer had the strenght to KO him. I think i that way the fight backfired a little.

Thanks for the post Carlos and to everyone who has commented. Unfortunately I didnt do the business, I didn't stick to the game plan and ended up backed up on the ropes. Perez unloaded like a machine gun with about 8 straight shots which all landed on my arms. The ref stopped the fight. I wasn't hurt but obviously the ref thought otherwise. A warning would have been nice but you can't critisise a ref when fighter's welfare is in their hands. I should have grabbed him or something. You can't buy experience thats why I'm going in with tough opponents to learn from the best. I'll get a rematch with him at some point because they struggle to get him matched up. I've got at least four weeks now to prepare for another fight, hopefully I'll get on a local show and can prepare to a timescale with a named opponent in mind.

How can you knock this guy what a game lad,Howard i matched you for your first fight and if i can get you any more work i defo will.
