paul briggs. is his heart in it?

paul briggs was to fight antwon echols soon. aparently thats off. then an argentinian was mentioned.....whatever.

my main concern is that he hasnt the motivation he once had. i know he will talk a good fight, just like his nuthuggers here will, but its been well posted that he basically retired and went home to the GC.

where is the proof he has his motivation back?

Briggs would tear Echols a new arse. An Argentinian? Did you see the Argentinian Super Middleweight champion's effort against Bika last week?

Paul would still be getting back into fighting shape. Any talk of an opponent is scuttlebutt.

One of the other boxing forums has a quote from Paul's current trainer yesterday saying he has officially retired. It indicates he has not recovered from the illness he had last year. If it is true then Paul has done the right thing

That was on Briggs' homepage. Seems his recovery was not as complete as he thought.

Shame about that.

what actually was the illness paul had?
adrenal failure or something? or depression?

His adrenal system failed. It is a very serious condition. He thought he had overcome it, but he was not as well as he thought. I hope he does well in his future.

I met Paul when I fought in Australia in 2005. I hope he and his family are doing well because he is a great guy and a very good fighter.
I wish him the best in everything he does. He took me and my Team out to dinner with his family and is a Champ in my book. :TU:

I just watched the 2nd Briggs/Adamek fight again. I also saw it in person in Chicago last year. I didn't realize he had retired. He gave two good efforts against Adamek, and I was looking forward to seeing him again.

He usually gives value for money. An all aussie fight with Greenie would have been huge...I'm not
sure about his move to Super Middle, and just how much of a benefit it will be ?? If it happens!!

more of a natural LH. SMW would have been a stretch, but possible. But by all accounts it's all over for him.

Too hard for him too make that weight comfortably I would have thought
