Wharton at the Leeds town hall for me too..! his left hooks used to knock e-level fighters through the ropes.. :)

Carl Crook, Billy Schwer (just a brilliant Euro level fighter - rarely gets a mention these days), Shea Neary, Chris Saunders (hit or be hit) Kevin Leushing, Wayne Rigby - there have been loads of exciting lower weight fighers from GB over the last couple of decades.

PAt Barrett - saw his name mentioned on another thread - what a deadly puncher he was - pure excitment every time out (except for the Manning Galloway debacle)

That was him.

He wasn't the greatest fighter; but you'd struggle to find a fighter more exciting, especially as he wasn't a top of the line fighter whose tickets were expensive.

Colin Jones was pretty exciting. One always knew that he had the punch to turn any situation around. Just ask Kirklaind Laing!

Carl Thompson, Rocky Kelly, Gary Knight, Kostas Petrou,

Ricky Hatton has been good value for money.

Clinton Woods is on my list - obvious reasons.

David Haye will not be in a dull fight in my view.

Jamie Moore is never in a dull fight and Amir Khan is exciting to watch.

But my personal favourites are Benn and Eubank.

Some good ones on that list Spud. Not totally convinced anout Eubank though. I was a big supporter of Eubank but some of bouts were tedious! Great to watvh on a good night though.

Dave Dent. Theres a blast from the past. What a great amatuer he was. Sparred many a round with Dave at the Pat Newman Centre in days gone by.

I wonder what he is up to now?

peter judson {judder} one craaayzy mother... ready to fight his own reflection.....great lad tho....looked like an albino...fight like a mongoose..lol....some goood guys...went to denmark with him...guy bust his rib sparring,but rather than rest it ,knocked the shite out of the dane..cos the guy targeted his body ..brave crazy dude,,,,

gott agree with macxwell66 about henry wharton, I remember seeing him against sam storey over in halifax, it looked like the fighting wasn't just gonna be taking place in the ring that night with the crowd rivalry!

Henry was always good value, he's up there with bomber Graham as one of the best boxers never to win a world title. I know Carl fought there last year, but it'd be nice to see more bouts at the town hall, even if they're not name fighters, its a great venue.

Keith Fletcher, heavyweight who wasn't around long but always in a good fight. Otheres who haven't been mentioned yet who spring to mind - Andy Holligan, Tony Sibson, Pele Reid & Lou Gent.
