The MC who's been doing allegedly shows recently...

Hi gents,

as the title says, the MC who's been doing the shows on TV recently - I am sure allegedly stuff....I mean Allegedly allegedly stuff. Bald guy, probably late 30's or early 40's, roundish face and soft features....

Did he used to be an actor by any chance??

I am sure I have seen him in something like the Bill or Eastenders many moons ago (and it must be a long time ago as I haven't watched either for years). If anyone has the faintest idea what I'm going on about I'd be grateful for any clarification.

cheers

Bev. Kev. Kev. Bev.

Could you lower the price Kev. Wish I could Kev.

Apparently they went to school together.

He was in Operation Good Guys, which was basically a spoof of The Bill

And he is the most shocking ring announcer I have ever seen.

You get what you pay for and in this case he must be getting peanuts.

I've heard he has a confidence problem.

He was also Kev in those annoying 'Kev & Bev' car ads. My brother-in-law's dad saw him on the tube done up in a tux a while back and said he knew he'd seen him somewhere! Da da da daaaaaaaal(sang in Grange Hill style) SORRY – DIDN'T SEE EARLIER POST)

Yes this guy is abysmal and I know being a boxing MC is probably one of those jobs where it looks a lot easier than it is but this guy doesnt seem to even practice - he never improves - if anything he seems to get worse. I really believe I could do a better job than this guy. What happened to Michael Pass? He was very good - definitely the best in the U.K IMO. Oh yeah to answer TMK's question as some have stated he's in a few adverts for car insurance.

I heard he got a little bit too big for his boots and demanded more money. He also set up his own website, or fan club. I forget.

Burdis isn't great, Michael Pass and John McDonald are the best in the country.

However they are all better then Mike Goodhall and his son who are utter shit. I would even rate Gary Logan above them two.

Mike Goodall just puts owns a few boxing rings. That is how he and his son get the job. It's my ring, so I get the mic type attitude.

You mean Gary "where has the American accent come from" Logan.

He's definately getting better, and does anyone else think (when its Light Welters or below fighting in the main event) "I bet the MC could have them both".

I don't mind Burdis - clearly not interested in the sport, cause surely he would just no some of the people he is introducing... but it sometimes refreshing for to it to be understated.

Didn't he just announce the scores and say "Amir Khan" for the Khan vs St Clair fight... not and still Commonwealth champion.

Pass was good but had an ego the size of America

Is Mike Goodhall the one who wears a wig?

Pass was a top MC, all right. I remember when the mic went out as he was doing the introductions to the Nicky Cook world title fight with Steven Luevano. Nobody could hear him, but he kept on introducing and the sound kicked in just as he said "...and from Dagenham, Nicky Cook!"
Brilliant, especially as Cook was on local turf. The crowd erupted.

according to one of Boxing Chat's posts, Pass started turning up late and generally messing his employers about & so he got the boot.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! "Kev, Bev - Kev?, Bev?"

That has had me howling here - excellent! It is funny how the memory works, I have just had a look at the link above and seen he WAS in Eastenders (probably where I remember him from) - AND The Bill!

(I'm back to laughing to at Kev-Bev thing now).

Agreed he is not a great MC at all, but at least he is having a go at it! (and I agree, John MacDonald any day of the week for me)

Cheers all,

"T.M.K"

Mike Goodhall is shit.

Burdis seems to lack a bit of confidence.

Maybe we need someone fresh and new? :D

Goodhall is one of the very best servants/workers to British Boxing - don't like him being slagged off at all.

I have had my runs in with Mike - but there is no one in the sport who works harder than him - absolutely no one.
