I hear Inkin is out again, anyone confirm?
If you have 'heard' it is off, it is off. You mischievous little bugger.boxingchat wrote:I hear Inkin is out again, anyone confirm?
Dirk says it's in Warren's column in the Sun. Inkin has pulled out through injury, again.Maelstrom wrote:If you have 'heard' it is off, it is off. You mischievous little bugger.boxingchat wrote:I hear Inkin is out again, anyone confirm?
Will ITV proceed with just Witter?
Hopkins and Calzaghe are definitely not at their peaks, unfortunately. There's not much time for Froch if he wants to make a big impact, imo.STP wrote:When you think Benn was 26, Eubank 24, Naz 21, Calzaghe 25, Hatton 26...
But then again, look at Marvin Hagler, Steve Collins and Bernard Hopkins.
Carl has never lost or even got out of second gear yet.
And look at the recent super-fight, with Calzaghe and Hopkins supposedly peaking at 36 and 43.
So who knows. Maybe numbers mean jack.
Surely anyone World ranked will be real tough to find at 2 weeks notice.Podmore_Birmingham wrote:Don’t be surprised if Alejandro Berrio, Columbia’s former IBF super-middleweight boss, steps in.
Berrio was ready to step in when Inkin pulled out last time, and I’m told he is ready to do the same again.jameswilson wrote:Surely anyone World ranked will be real tough to find at 2 weeks notice.Podmore_Birmingham wrote:Don’t be surprised if Alejandro Berrio, Columbia’s former IBF super-middleweight boss, steps in.
In saying that Hennessy has delivered some real good late replacements in the past but that was at Commonwealth title level.
wouldnt be a bad stand in at all, although the last memory of Berrio I have is seeing his head loll awkwardly as he got KO'ed by Bute.Podmore_Birmingham wrote:Don’t be surprised if Alejandro Berrio, Columbia’s former IBF super-middleweight boss, steps in.
His record is impressive but he was exposed a fair bit by losing to the light middle/middle Zuniga via KO - looked exhausted at the end, and on that showing he would get pulvarised by Froch.rhino222 wrote:bring on this fella, only fought a few weeks ago and it only went 2 rounds so will be fresh, record suggests the boy can bang....a lot !!

from Inkin to Oganov is quite a drop off in quality of opposition IMO.rhino222 wrote:some would suggest that dale westerman was not of the quality to fight froch but from ringside he caused the cobra more problems than most
This is where Hennessy having Witter on the same show is CRUCIAL - it will have saved the show. If this rumour is true - and not a load of bollocks to put ppl off going - about Inkin, then Murray-Fewkes will get some better coverage.Maelstrom wrote:If you have 'heard' it is off, it is off. True - it is/was a DEEP card. SN could take a few tips from Hennessey with regards to the match making on show!Autobarn wrote:This is where Hennessy having Witter on the same show is CRUCIAL - it will have saved the show. Oganov does have the same promoter as Timothy Bradley, who fights Witter. Maybe for convenience, Gary Shaw could get Oganov to come over.TerribleTerry wrote:His record is impressive but he was exposed a fair bit by losing to the light middle/middle Zuniga via KO - looked exhausted at the end, and on that showing he would get pulvarised by Froch.rhino222 wrote:bring on this fella, only fought a few weeks ago and it only went 2 rounds so will be fresh, record suggests the boy can bang....a lot !!

Berrio has better credentials for a late stand-in IMO
Thanks Spud. Much appreciated.
