This is clearly the marketing of a hype job. No trainer would keep their fighter away from winning the olympic gold if they could truly win the olympic gold, look at the money Amir Khan has generated, imagine a Chris Eubank Jr winning Gold for Britain (assuming he represents Britain), the money would be huge.

The only reason Chris Eubank Jr won't be going to the olympics is because hes not good enough. You don't release a press statement to announce your keeping a secret. They will probably give him a career much like Chavez Jr has been given, milking daddies name for all it is worth

Probably 80%-90% of current and past fighters have behaved in similar (if not worse) ways when they were that kind of age. It's just that there was never myspace or youtube or any other public places where their stupid behaviour could be displayed for the world to see. I doubt that the kid is a lost cause mentally, but I do agree that the influence that American gangsta rap attitudes has on certain section of British youth is lamentable and corrosive.

Have to say I met Eubank Jr about 3 or 4 times last year when working on the Hatton/Urango and then Hatton/Castillo shows - seemed a good enough bloke - very quiet - simply arrived at the gym got on with his work and only spoke if you asked him direct questions.

80 OR 90%? Really??? That's a ridiculous assumption.. though no doubt there were plenty of fighters who were badly behaved when young...

But basically your post has a lot of reason behind it...but none of the kids I know down the gym act like this.... there are plenty of kids who don't like a bully or a twat, really there is no excuse. but yes, he has time to change.
