And the winner then faces Kotelnik for the WBA belt?

Good lord, Rees would get his head taken off.

Rees Is decent and can do well at a smaller weight though.

Well it depends if Witter bothers to throw any meaningful shots.

Rees needs to go down in weight. Witter would have a field day with him.

I'm not so sure know. If Rees stays in close, he could make a fight of this.

Not a prayer.
Do you seriously think Wazza and Meaty Mick would work together on this one ?
I don't think Witter is on Wazza's Christmas Card list.

Witter would have an easy nights work with Rees.. and the usual Hatton-Haters would be saying how easy he`d beat Ricky .. if only Hatton would stop being scared and fight him .. etc..

Witter was no better - nor any worse than usual .. just he was up against a better opponent.

Witter hits harder than Kotelnik and the first throw counter hooks would have Rees out.

According to BC they have made offers to Witter in the last year

I think that would be a brilliant fight for Witter, would put the winner back in the frame in terms of title shots and I think its deffinatly worth him chaising Kolotnik, hopefuly next time he's in a big fight he'll turn up!

Hard to predict. Personally, I think Junior would do much better as a big under-dog.

He's rarely performed as the star attraction.

Against N'Dou and Harris, when he was not favourite - he's perfomed at his best.

He needs a puncher abroad. Torres would be good.

He was the favourite in both those fights.

Really? Ok tacet point now. He was at least facing a very live threat, 50-50 fights perhaps with more renown names.

You lot are already working him into a title shot?!

He's just had his arse handed to him by a virtual unknown yet some of you still feel he's got too much for Rees! On Saturday's performance he'd give him a fight, but give the guy a chance to get over this HUGE setback first.

Should Murray sign with Frank to get busy with more fights? Could witter get fights more easily with Frank??

PS On Saturday's performance REES would give WITTER a good fight, but neither will ever be a word champ again, certainly not one worth this amount of exposure.

Fwank would jump at the chance to promote Witter.

It would be in Fwank Terms but Witter would get a much quicker route back.

Either way - I hope Witter retires with £500k in the bank.

Fwank could get Witter a World title fight after 1 confidence booster.

Having said that, Witter lookd crap on Saturday.

DG,
Sorry mate but I think you've got this so wrong.
There is history between Wazza and Witter.
I just can't see him being remotely interested.
Maybe he was prior to this setback, but I do firmly believe that was simply aimed at trying to manipulate a situation to get at Hatton.
What does Witter offer to any potential new promotor now ?
He was a hard enough sell before but now it's a real struggle.

There's no way Rees can knock Witter down, so it's all about whether Witter can knock down Rees, which I think he can do with ease. I don't think Rees could last 12 rounds with Witter, but if he could then he'd have a chance of winning on work rate alone.

Rees should be fighting at lightweight.

Quite possibly Fwan was just saying he wants Witter to get to Hatton.

BUT, If he can get Rees a World Title fight - he can get Witter one!

It might have to be in the states against someone else but Fwank can pull strings.

Either way Witter has to make his move, he was awful last time out, one more of those and he retires, but is he ready Financially to do that?

I wish him well!

No no and no !
Wazza hasn't an ounce of time for Witter.
Rees got his chance on the end of the Wales bandwagon Wazza was building - now crumbling following Maccaroni's defeat, Rees's defeat, Locketts up and coming defeat and Joe's imminant retirement after his superfight.
Rees at least sells tickets !!!
Come on, who is going to pay top dollar now to see Witter headline ?
As a consequence, which Promotor, other than his current one, is going to show the slightest bit of interest ?
He's been with Golden Boy for 3 years ? and ain't fought for them yet !
It's resurrection time, back on the undercards of Meaty Mick's promotions.
Sad, but true.
