Amir Khan says he is willing to move to America to boost his chances of teaming up with a top-class trainer.

The Bolton-based boxer parted company with Oliver Harrison last month and is looking for a long-term replacement.

"I'd like an American coach to come over here but if it came down to the fact that I had to go to America, I'd do that," said the 21-year-old.

"I'd like to take that chance. It'd be a different atmosphere over there and a different environment to learn in."

Khan added: "I think it could bring something different out in me. I would look forward to the challenge."

Dean Powell will oversee the Commonwealth and WBO Intercontinental lightweight champion's next fight against Michael Gomez in Birmingham on 21 June.

But Powell's role is seen by many as temporary, with Americans Buddy McGrit and Roger Mayweather mentioned as possible long-term coaching appointments.

Kinda interesting in light of recent events, and I can't see a McGrit or a Mayweather coming over here.

Wonder how this will this would affect the SN relationship if he did relocate?

The kid is deluded, if its money he's after he should stay in Britain he's earning plenty and not even proven himself, if its a world title he wants Frank will get him one , wether or not he will deserve it is a different matter, but facts are over there they will not baby him and feed him midgets and worn out boxers , he'll have to prove himself and personally i think he will find out very quickly how much fwank has protected and nursed him along.

Sports Network built the Calzaghe and Hatton brands, my friend. Let's not forget that both man have fought to huge crowds under SN, and that SN secured both RIng Magazine title shots against the best in their division at home. Not bad, I would think.

Maybe this could spur on some kind of deal between countries ala Ahmet Ohner of Arena Box who promoted Yuriorkis Gamboa in Germany and has inked a deal for him to fight in America.

It may suit Khan to be able to fight in America AND the UK both.
