There is an article regarding WITTER vs BRADLEY and Mick trying to get a remtach going.
Apparently Bradley people want it - it is just up to TV and MH is working on it.
An immediate rematch is not ot of the question because the WBC rules states that if a Mandatory contest did not go to purse bids then the HOST Promoter ( Hennessey ) has the right to stage a rematch.
It also mentions that Witters dad is serioulsy ill.
This may have resulted in the poor performance.
I wish Juniors Dad a speedy recovery.

I'm sure I saw Bradley was up for a rematch "if the money was right"

In America.
Was it entertaining enough for ITV to sniff again?

Maybe not? but I am sure we would see it somewhere in the UK.
Witter looked awful - but under the circumstances I give him the benefit of the doubt.

Your very generous DG.
He's performed like that about 4 times out of the last six. This time he was in with someone with the tools to illustrate it.

jesus christ DG you are a plonker.
His dads ill blah blah while slating hatton cos he lost to Mayweather. Get a life mate.
If his dad is ill fair enough i wish him a speedy recovery but be professional and do the fornicating job let everyone else has to when they have problems.
this isnt an excuse so stop trying to make one for him. your bias is irritating in the extreme.

Right, this is enough. Witter has won and he's lost a world title. He did well. He came good. But it ended bitterly, with a bad performance on Showtime again. End of story.
Showtime won't want Bradley to fight him again - Bradley only just got the decision (at least as scored by the judges).
Witter went in to every title defence knowing that there would be no way back if he lost. OK this is harsh - other ppl come back - but he doesn't have an attractive style.
Mick Hennessy has some good fighters on the way up and why not concentrate on them?
So, does that mean the effing Hatton-Witter feud is going to carry on?
How's Hennessy going to stage big shows when his main fighter is Junior Witter?
Jesus F Christ.

I am a very generous man.
He was Zombie like and yes, Bradley was good enough to beat him.
I actually rthink Bradley wins by KO next time.
But I would like to see it!

If Hennessy is meant to be going through a "lean period" hinted at by both Spud and Bozing Chat, why the big Witter crusade? Witter is no kind of draw, brings in little money, and ends up losing his world title on the programme Gary Shaw designed to highlight YOUNG PROSPECTS.
Witter didn't even lose to a contender - he lost to a prospect. Let's get this right.
It should be over on the world scene. He's buried himself again re US TV. I know he wants it back but why not just win it on the day?

If Hatton had 'released' news post-Mayweather that his Dad was ill you would have absolutely slaughtered him for it DG.
Grow up a bit and try and debate issues rationally.
Surely the wrestling and all that is for the smack talk type fans - it's annoying when they cross over into boxing.

I have an idea.
If you do not like something (thread /comment etc) do not waste YOUR time by posting on it!
Not everyone reads/subscribes to Boxing News and /or Boxing Monthly. So there are occasions where news/information may not be known to everyone.
I had no idea that
1) WBC Mandatory fights allow the Promoter of the contest to request a rematch if the contest is fought but did not go to Purse Bids.
2) I did not know Witter’s Dad was seriously ill.
Did you know????
Listen,
Some people use the illness as extra motivation (Colin Lynes being a great example) and others react differently.
So, if you do not like something I post – ignore it. Or better still – why not start a damn thread yourself?
You miserable gits!
If there is news about some other Hennessy Fighters that interest you, then post a damn thread on it!

Because Witter has no pace, has surely alienated UK and US TV, and how can he win another world title? And if he did, who'd watch?
Let's see him vs Olusegun for the Commonwealth title in the county of low esteem (Yorkshire, where almost everyone seems to fight as if to avoid their problems rather than confront them) and see how many turn up.

No I would not.
Its a Sport FFS and as much as I think Hatton is a caant - I would have nothing but sympathy if a loved one were ill.

Witter v Olesegun for the Commonwealth looks a good fight to me. Not for witter but it is for Olesegun

Buster Douglas's mum died just before he beat up Tyson!
Witter blew it pure and simple. A bad day at the office and when you are him rematchs and coming back are doubly difficult.
Crap figures on ITV with not MOTD either and Sky none to happy with MH for doing it so Witter may be screwed either way.

the BARB does the figures,
boxingchat just does obfuscation, especially when you ask him to compare his pimps figures with someone elses.

BARB - that's the one. Seems viewing figures on its website only going up to the weekend before this one just past, so obviously BC's facts are not BARBed in any way whatsoever.

so, ITV, Sky AND Showtime will be indifferent to Witter.
how will his promoter get him a TV date?
whose undercard will he be stuck on this time, then?
