JUAN DIAZ: After the Olympic Games in Seoul in 1988, came to the conclusion that I did not have more opponents in Argentina and decided to accept the invitation of businessman Abraham Katzenelson to work in Brazil as the Maguila sparring. In addition, the contract included that when they fight, I would do the preliminary. But in 1990 I went to the U.S., where I was for a year, and then went to Italy, where he also remained for a year as sparring, Maximiliano Duran, who was the champion of the world cruisers by the WBC at the time. When Duran lost the title, I went back to Brazil where they remain for 16 years doing some struggles and giving lessons.

RINGUE: How were your two fights with the Maguila [in 1992 and 1999]? DIAZ: While well know, because I was his sparring, it was a very good experience, because at the time [the first fight] I was 8 fighting as a professional and had won all by knockout, while he was a cartel of 48 fights! The 1 st. fight was 12 rounds and lost points by drawing the South American title. The second fight ended in draw.

RINGUE: From the international struggle that has, what, in their view, was the most difficult?

DIAZ: The fight harder against Larry Donald was worth the Latin title, because it was a fighter who had invicto appeal to all my invested.

RINGUE: What is your goal in the ring, to 46 years? Who do you want to face?

won the Pan American because drew media attention. However, it is necessary that the leaders of the various entities to unite and fight for the future of boxing in Brazil. After all human material to the success of this
Sports is not something we lack in this country!
