It was reported he was KOed in the first round. What the hell was he doing in against a younger man who has won two WBC titles?

As has been well documented on all the Aussie forums Bennett has built a career beating up tomato cans. As he gets up there in age he finally takes a chance against a very well performed fighter and gets smashed.Bennett never really tried to gradually step up his opponents so that he would be prepared for a quality opponent.A familiar current Aussie boxing scenario unfortunately.Geale appears to be better managed with his last few and next opponents gradaually getting better. He then learns and improves.

Yeah.... he was very drained, the Thai was too strong Chad got hit in the back of the head hurt his neck and went down but he got up but didn't recover went down again and the ref stopped the fight. It was a big step up, I'm still proud of him for taking the fight but I think he needed to take smaller steps and fight someone like Mick Shaw or Matt Paulley before someone like Singwancha. Hopefully he's going to keep fighting, but he said he wants a bit of time off before he makes a decision.

There are still some good matchups for him in Australia. I would love to see him on Fox fighting Medley.

Robert Medley would tear Chad Bennett a fresh arse. Medley is in a class above Bennett. :box:

It would be a good comeback fight for Medley after losing to Hlatswayo. Bennet would be competitive while it lasted.

You don't rate Ade Alfonsas a good comeback opponent then? :)

The card looks good, Its as easy a fight as you could get in your comeback. I hope he fights someone a lot better before stepping up in class again.
I think this easy competition is what lets our good aussie fighters down when they do step up as they get thrown in the deep end against guys who can actually fight back.

you are right, the promoters bring a cab driver out., buy a nothing title to make the program look good, put our overwrapped boys by the so called experts inwith them for an easy night, then when they meet somebody that can fight they are in trouble.medley was an example, lewis had him winning a world title after he was flogged the first time by hlastwato, second time round he is very quiet.medly must think a left hand is a lollypop as it was in his face all night.we have 8 round title fights, fighters coming back to 6 rounders after they have won a title, fighting for a title after 4 or 5 fights and having lost 3,it can,t get much worse

Notice that Chad is getting back on the bike again on 26th July to battle Brazilian: Wellington De Jesus.

One hopes that Wellington doesn't belt the De be Jesus out of Chad like Singwancha did recently!

He looks like a punching bag for other Latinos. Boxrec does not rate him in the top 300!

Bennett's next opponent, Wellington de Jesus (Brazilian, not related to Puerto Rican lightweight great Esteban) was KOed in 4 by Martin Kristjongen on the Kessler/Sortisan card.

Two last up losers to meet. :-?

at least he was on the kessler undercard, two quick bout,s for bennet and he will give medley a run for his money,as you said lewis gave him big raps.then went quiet, you,ve only got to listen to the team on saturday radio, they are so far up each others seat it makes you sick ,i don,t know who the parrot is who keeps introducing fenech as 4 time world champion,a left hook tomorrow night might settle everyones doubt about the winner of the last fight.i just hope it is fairdinkum

this will be the problem I fear. If it goes past 4 it might look as fast as treacle.

Oh, be serious! He was KOed in Copenhagen by a lightweight who has never won a fight outside of Denmark and who got Koed in 7 by Amir Khan in his previous fight and is ranked no. 72 in the World by Boxrec after KOing this dude. Wellington may well get the boot.

these are the fights bennet needs, dont think wellington is any worse than some of our boys going around, vella and wills showed plenty of ticker but nothing else, their trainers can,t be putting too much work in to them.they looked like soliman and bagero on the piss.
