I say no. Don't forget, if not for the Polish pouch puncher doing what he did, Bowe has 2 more brutal losses on his resume. Other than the 2 wins over Holyfield, the competiton is bad.

well if ken norton can get in, shouldnt bowe get at least a shot?

norton was just handed that title and lost it in his first defense. Bowe took it from the champ.

I think Bowe's manager, the lovely Rock Newman, should be in the 'Hall of Fame.'

LOL

And why not the goons there with Bowe who started the riot in Madison Square Garden.

Certainly he deserves Boxrec HOF entry. At least he should get it before John L Sullivan.

Bowe deserves his place in the Hall of fame eventually. He earned the unified Championship even if he did trash a belt.

Granberry stop mumbling your tripe, what would you know about a fella like Bowe? You've never even had one argument regarding Bowe with anyone here. The only way that you ever learn anything about a fighter is if you start an argument about him and someone then begins revealing information to you about that fighter in their defense. Since you have never started an argument about Bowe to date, I'm sure you don't know anything about him yet.

And I'm not going to give you the benefit of my education on the subject just so you can soak up my hard earned knowledge and then later go show off for your friends. Just know that Bowe is well deserving of your respect and your reverence. He had good fundamentals yet he moved forward on his target regardless of incoming. He was able to absorb powerful foul blows and fall to the canvas with grace and poise, and pick himself back up with pride and remain HW champion. Be honest...could you do that?

What is the criteria for the HOF ?

To be a dominant force for a period of time ?
To be entertaining in the sport of boxing ?
To be a champion ?

If so..he was all of those things. Even if brief.

Benjamin Brain is in it isnt he ?

I think Bowe did enough to get in.

On the strength of his career accomplishments, no. However, if you're going to permit entry for the likes of Norton & Johansson, it's hard to say he didn't do enough. Bowe, like Liston before him, was a greater fighter than his achievements indicate.

How can you compare Bowe's legacy of a trilogy with Holyfield, to Sullivan's reign of terror that lasted virtually as long as Joe Louis's title reign? For least eight years he was the Queensbury champion and for 4 years prior to that he was already the bare knuckle champion. So what he didn't fight Peter Jackson....Bowe didnt fight Lennox Lewis....or Mike Tyson....

Norton did 'beat' the champion Ali, just by according to the bogus scorecards.

Ingo should've never gotten in. Neither should Bowe.

Obviously. The man was a great fighter who knocked out Evander shortly before Evander began his second reign. And he was the man who ended his first reign, the same man whom Steve Farhood nominated as #3 heavyweight of all time.
