Really surprised this hasnt been mentioned at all as yet, has it breezed under the radar?

What does everyone think, the experience of Simpson, or the raw talent of Appleby, who many believe is the best british prospect!? has to be Appleyby's night, doesnt it?

The bookies have got it as an even fight, 5/6 for both.

I can't recall seeing Appleby box, but if he's being touted as one of Britains best prospects he should deal with Simpson, although JS isn't a stranger to springing upsets

Appleby is decent, but this is quite a step up and might be a couple of fights too soon.

However, I do think Appleby is a good prospect, one of the brighter ones around at the moment, and I believe he'll rise to the occasion and win this.

Funny thing is Simpson could be classed as a prospect too - I mean he's only 24 himself! You would think he was older though - he seems to have been around for ages. I'll be routing for Simpson - if only because he's had a hard time coming through - should have got the nod vs. Matthews and earlier in his career against Dazzo Williams. I also think his greater experience will see him the victor by stoppage in the latter rounds - around the eighth.

Looking forward to this one.

Fair play to Appleby, he's not messing about and wants to get stuck into real fights at a very young age.

I wouldn't rate Simpson as a formidable British champion, like Carl Froch or Jamie Moore, but will take some beating. The talent is there with Appleby, but Simpson will seriously test his his mental and physical strength.


If Appleby does come through there's a cracking double title showdown waiting for him in the form of Paul Truscott.

Should be a really good battle. Simpson could use his greater experience to teach the younger man a valuable lesson or Appleby might just not give a fig and go all out for a stoppage from the off and succeed.

Didn't realise that Simpson was only 24, his greater experience could count if the fight goes into the later rounds. If things don't start going right for Appleby at some stage will he have the knowledge to correct it.
Either way a barring an early KO loss , it won't be the end of the world for the loser, both are young enough to learn from it.

I'm plumping for Appelby here, so go all in on Simpson everybody.

I think Simpson will old man him (despite the fact he is only 24). He will have picked up so much with fights against the likes of Williams, Morris, Matthews and Foster Jnr. I think he survive an early storm to take over in the last few rounds and retain his belts on the scorecards.

Simpson has a good chin, hits the body pretty well and has more experience at going the 12-round distance, how to pace himself and pick up the points, etc. I honestly think Appleby will tire himself by trying to force a spectacular early stoppage and trying to make a statement.

I have watched Appleby, about 3 times I think. Gets hit a lot, needs to improve his defense but he can take a shot. Lots of guts and very determined as well as skillful. This really is his biggest test so far and its hard to say how the fight will go. If he does manage to beat Simpson he will definately earn the right to be called one of our best prospects. He is young and very keen and should have a very good career ahead of him. He definately doesnt seem to have world class potential but you never can tell.

Appleby has fast hands, tall and Is aggressive but he needs more fights to be ready for Simpson.

Simpson wins this In my opinion.

Could be a brutal fight this one. Slightly favour Simpson.

Simpson isn't the greatest of boxersd but he is a tough as a three dollar steak and I can see that he might be a slight favourite - the fight seems to me to be one or two too soon for Appleby to be comfortable.

I think Appleby's a decentt alent but this is a tough step up - I'm a sucker for an unbeaten record so I think Appleby will knick a close one.

I think Appleby will take a close - very controversial - decision, followed by calls for a re-match.

Both boxers have said they are in superb condition, so i see a very hyped up Appleby coming out fast, trying to show who's boss. Simpson has always had a cool head and should be able to soak up the early pressure without to much bother, even when Simpson was badly cut against Derry Matthews he never panicked.

I've only seen an early fight of Appleby ,he looks a decent prospect, but i feel this fight might have come a bit to soon for him, its Simpson on points

The good thing about this fight is both are young enough to bounce back no matter who loses.

Disagree - Simpson would be favoured Trucott should he lose tonight. He's only 24 himself.

I think Simpson takes this. I like Applebey, but for me this is a little early for him, and Simpson is better than his 5 losses suggest. IMO he'll win a competetive, but clear decision..... experience at the higher level will show through.

If Appleby wins this one, it will signal some real promise and intent.
