When is Allegedly gonna start looking after the real fighters in his stable?
it makes me sick seeing genuine talent being ruined! once again
Kevin Mitchell digs deep and shows he has the heart of a true warrior but again takes way
too many shots! instead of making stupid comments why isn't fwank doing more to prevent this
the kid is clearly worth the time and effort. Mitchell's fights are exciting to watch and he often shows
touches of brilliance good power,speed and bags of stamina but is still making the same defensive mistakes
I blame the people behind him .............He's not had much southpaw sparring! why the f*#k not
If this was khans fight he would have had southpaw sparring partners lined up round the block even a short notice!
what is his trainer doing or rather not doing?
Seems like the only one doing their job is Kevin Mitchell and he's doing it the hard way!
this early in his professional career these tear ups may make good viewing but they are unnecessary
Mitchell has every thing it takes to be real world class all he needs now is world class training
It's about time S/N gave up on certain lost causes and start concentrating on the real talent .

26 fights before he fought anyone of note is SN doing their job more than well - Maybe Mitchell just isn't as good as you think?

The problem is he's only now getting the good learning fights and he's learning the hard way. His learning curve for his first 25 fights could be graphically illustrated as a long flat line. Natural talent and heart aren't enough. He should have had a more defined career progression.

I don't think it's got as much to do with that as it has his training. If he was fighting tougher guy's earlier he still would have been taking stupid shots and might not have been seasoned enough to deal with them. It's all down to training. Almost all European fighters have trouble with rolling and slipping shots.

There is little special about Mitchell. He's European class at best. He's too "British" in style to be a force at world title level (genuine world titles that is).

I agree, I dont think Mitchell is true World class either. A lot of his fights taught him nothing so his progression has been slow. Carl was his toughest fight and he was lucky to come through that one. Johanssen is very good at British level but failed at Euro. Mitchell may just be very slightly better but only just.

i agree he should have had better prep for a lefty.

I think he is being brought along like many Sports Network unbeaten fighters. While a number of prospects are let off the leash or put into tougher, learning bouts around the 15 fight mark, SN do it differently, having about 10 more fights before they get those type of scraps.

Same with Hatton who was about 20 or so fights into his career before they fed him Lauri and then Thaxton, and look at Paul Smith who is only now fighting for the English belt after a stagnating career. I'm not being overly critical of their policy, it makes sense for them, but i think Mitchell is now biding his time towards a vacant title shot.

We were cheering Mitchell on in Atlantic City and he gave us the thumbs up!!

I thought he was taking too many shots and was a little reckless, brave lad though!! If anyone knows him my mate took a cracking pic of him with the belt that he might want.. PM me.

I agree.

He's a little like a Nicky Cook or Graham Earl in that he looks the part at times but will step up and get smashed.

it wont be long. i scored it all to his opponent the other night and was mystified by the quick turnaround in that one.
