Is it just me, or is there something really un-likeably about the Walsh Brothers? One of them was offered "Touch Gloves" by the guy he was fighting, and did a mock touch and then punched him. Not on.

Their whole style seems to be insufferable and overly-rude.

They just seem over-hyped, I must be honest and say that I am really looking forward to seeing them get knocked out.

They have a lot of fans, but its a shame they seem a bit yobbish too.

They'll get knocked out sooner or later, it's just a question of which one will be first.

Very unlikeable. That Michael Walsh should try to prove he can box before all that showing off. At least he wasn't pleased with his performance, that's the only positive I can take from that fight.

Couldn't agree more. Walsh looked more like Internet 'sensation' Charlie Zelanoff than Naseem Hamed. Dirty little chav who seemed to be showboating (if that's what you call it) to make up for a lack of basic boxing skills. The moment when the opponent offered his glove and Walsh whacked him was disgusting. He's going to get put on his back the soon as he takes a baby step up in class.

I have to say, on first impressions, they left a really bad taste in the mouth. Just not on.

I'd love to see them matached against another prospect, that would be a really nice fight to watch. Thing is, being in the lower weight divisions (especially Michael, I think, the super flyweight) there is somewhat limited opposition.

all it will do is fuel future opponents desire to put them on their arse. FW is only showcasing them because their fans line his pockets.

His attitude just sucked. If you were trying to convert a friend to boxing and ended up showing them that, you'd be embarassed.

He looks like he has a right chip on his shoulder - like he loses his temper because his opponent is trying to hit him. Not professional and I have to ask, how can he have any fans? I mean, do you have to be related to him, or do you have to have something wrong with you, to think that is good? Or am I missing something?

Notice too how the opponents are only announced at very late notice. I'm not sure when Johnny Greaves was asked about the fight- but I think given some proper notice he could have prepared well for it.

Exactly. I was in that position yesterday - watching the fights with people who only carry a passing interest in boxing. The whole thing just made a mockery of the sport. No skills on show, God-awful showboating and retarded face pulling, webbed-feet inbreds shouting and screaming from ringside and then the French opponent(?) decides to turn his back for no apparent reason. Not the greatest advert for the sport we all love. The only thing missing was Walsh making his ring entrance to the duelling banjos theme from 'Deliverance'.

They're all his friends, family and fellow home-towners. They will support him no matter what he does.

Do these lads have any decent amateur experience or is it just another big SN hype monster?

Broadhurst is a class act in fairness, in fairness Walsh stopped Delroy Spencer and only championship class fighters managed that

Aren't they from the same area as the lottery winner Mickey Carroll?
Saying that is it just they are coming across badly in the ring, are they decent guys out of it?

That was a controversial stoppage- in my opinion premature. Delroy Spencer was REALLY angry about it, calling the ref a " f---ing w---er ," he seemed really cross it was called off. He had been knocked down, but was up again and was fighting with his guard up, and the round was nearly over. No need to stop it at all.

It didn't help that Walshes fans were chanting racist stuff during and before the fight. What a bunch of nobs, its embarassing, and gives boxing fans a bad name.

This may be in some people's eyes a harsh remark but in my opinion they (Walsh brothers, fans etc etc) come across like a gang of twats!!!!

Stuff like that puts me off the sport i love!!

Didn't like what I saw. Dont see him (Michael) going anywhere. Classless performance from a classless man in front of his classless supporters.

As soon as he steps up he'll be flattened. Don't see him stepping up for a good while though, he looked wide open and was being outboxed by the other fella, who seemed to have had enough of the whole scene when he quit as opposed to anything Walsh had put forward.

On the bright side, after seeing what he had to offer last night, there's now a lout on the scene who I can look forward to see getting the shit knocked out of at some future date. That'll be worth watching.

While nothing comparable to this, but in the opening bout of the proffesional show at Cardiff recently, the local lad (Rob Turley) had a bit of a chav following (I would say of the about the 30 that showed, 20 were his fans). I thought it was a bit out of order that they booed the ref giving it to Riaz Durgaheed who had but Turley down twice.

the thing is them 100 twats each will probably be it...in fact once the defeats come if anything you'd expect the number to diminish.
If they're really that bad then only their own ilk will follow them, can't see the average decent fan getting behind them.
I paid no attention to those particular bouts whatsoever so I'm in no position to comment personally but I think this many posts doesn't require you to have witnessed it for yourself, i did have to reach for the remote though cos one of them seemed to get interviewd for something like 3 minutes I just thought who the fck is this charlie.........

broadhurst has sold 850 tickets and id love to see him knock that little cock eyed c*nt out.
