Ronald Hearns is also fighting, although his opponent has changed, which is a shame as it was looking interesting.

Arreola v Witherspoon is the pick of this week for me.

I've been really impressed with Hearns Jnr, shame he isn't 24/25........ thing he could have been a real contender if he was a little younger.

Has Hearns opponent def been changed?

Couldn't agree more Stu. Why did he take so long, I thought I read somewhere he was a promising College Basketball player but didn't make it so turned to Boxing, but not 100% sure.

Probably decided he could cash in on his fathers name.... I am so impressed with him that I don't think a world title is out of the question now.

Infact, if he passes the whiskers test - I'd bung him in with Mora now.

"Ronald Hearns has always had an interest in the “Sweet Science”. As a young man, growing up in the Metro Detroit area, his famous father, Thomas “Hitman” Hearns, had goals for him. First and foremost, an education where Ronald would earn a degree. Tommy’s other vision was to persuade him to participate in additional sports besides boxing. Ronald tried different sports but his true passion was always to strive to become a successful boxer one day.

As a teenager, he tried to work out at Kronk and Butzel Gym’s in Detroit, MI. Eventually, the elder Hearns would come to learn of his son training, and have him locked out of the different boxing gyms in Detroit.

Ronald went on to have an impressive basketball career at American University. He was the on court floor general, as he played point guard for the Eagles. While at American University, he proudly earned a Criminal Justice degree.

After graduating, Ronald still wanted to pursue his dream of a career in boxing. Looking to have his dad’s blessing, Ronald discussed the subject with his famous father.

Tommy was very supportive of his son and allowed him to pursue his career in the ring. So at age 23, Ronald Hearns turned his sights back to boxing. He worked on picking up his skills and techniques at a quick pace. His amateur career was brief but successful, posting a 9-1 amateur record. Ronald’s biggest accomplishment came with a 2004 National Middleweight Championship Title.

On April 2, 2004, Ronald turned pro and has set his goals high. The “Motor City Cobra” prides himself on continually training hard, so he can achieve his ultimate goal of winning a middleweight title."

I think he has a good chance at winning at title at Light Middleweight.

Point taken. :P

But with the likes of Kirkland and Angulo aiming for titles soon and the possibility of top welterweights moving up, the division won't be like this for long.

By the way, someone in Boxpicks has said that the Hearns fight is cancelled. No proof yet though.

Some cracking fights there hope we get to see some in the UK even if they're replays. I've never seen Witherspoon or Arreola in action so would be interesting to get a look in at their fight and see if either has potential to make a dent in the crappy HW scene. Abraham-Miranda is another one that has got to be shown here - some real needle in that one.
