Khan vs Gomez

Is anyone giving Gomez much of chance here?

Let's face it, he is past his peak, which was never that great in the first place, and is fighting above his natural weight class.

The only reason I think it might get interesting is if Gomez can really rough Khan up, with elbows, headbutts etc. That way he might be able to give Khan something he hasn't really experienced before and it might get interesting.

Lump on a 1st round win for Khan IMO.

Gomez will be a walking target. Defo going no longer than 3!!!

If it goes two rounds I'll be amazed, I can't even understand why it's going ahead when Khan should be looking to Euro or world honours. This is a step back from Earl, Limond and co

Can't have made myself any more explicit on previous threads and echo the sentiments of the posters of this thread completely. Whoever's been involved in this match-up should be ashamed of themselves... before people spring up and say that Gomez might make things interesting if he lands a left hook etc, etc, let's remember that similar thoughts were voiced prior to Pavlik vs Lockett.

Its worth it for the press conference alone. Aside form that, "I'd love it, LOVE IT if he beat him". If Mike can land just one shot on Khan and rock him I'll be chuffed to bits, and will be jumping liek a loon for MIke to finish him.
Personally I dont think Khan will walk through him, I think he'll keep mike at range for a couple of rounds before he tires and Khan can move in to finish him.

Mike will come out witha bumper pay packet and will probably finish after the fight. I remember him saying ti was the fight he wanted around 12months ago at a charity event. Well now he has it and I hope he's ebing paid well and is up for it.

Its strange Mr Dooley, the contrast between the two of you academically, yet you're probably both on the same wave length.

I was thinking the same thing. T.Diddly has no education at all and Gomez has a few O' levels.

Mr Dooley is one of those eternal student types... more degrees than a themometer.

He said that win or lose he is carrying on after this fight, but that he will win. He said a few odd things. They will be on BBN ASAP :TU:
BBN's down at the mo isnt it?

Same here, I shat myself when asked to interview Mike at late notice (about 10mins) at one of steves shows, but he was easy, he has lots to say and often provides quotes galore. The only problem I had was his continuous jumping up and down shouting support for his gym mates (think it was brian rose who was fighting at the time). Oh, and the static form his shell suit.

I'll be donning my sombrero on Saturday night in the hope of a shock.

Its a pretty no brainer that Khan stops Gomez or wins a wide UD, but I hope Gomez pulls it off anyway

Cant see mike having the stamina to go 12, or even 6 to be honest. I think at the pace his brain tells him to fight his body would only go 4.

 Don't make me get my 'DG Stick' out DG Tips! I tried to join doghouseboxing under the name Neckodeemus, in order to keep an eye on you, but they won't have me.

I like talking to Gomez. One of those characters who everyone assumes will be difficult but is great to deal with and gives some good answers to questions, although not necessarily in the right order.

For this one we did about a minutes and he declared "Do you know what happened on my 21st birthday?!" (I did) before nipping off for a Pro Recover. Upon returning he was sure that we had done a longer interview and he was all suited up to go home. I had to tell him, with the help of Bobby Rimmer, that we had only done a minute. He went from being ready to go home to being happy to sit and chat. Not many people would do that. Throw in his past insistence of special 'ankle handshakes' and the like and you have a guy who is good to meet.

I still think Khan wins this fight but you never know.

I could sense it was you, hence the ban on you!

Doghouse is where I go to whoop ass - I am mashing down Jtoilets ( The Mod) for being rude!

:D

I am sure that Gomez is a good laugh if you know him, but if you don't i doubt you would want him living next door!

I must admit I've had a couple of nostalgic quids on Gomez to win by KO. They'll have to delay the film to add a new ending if my prophecy comes true.

Gomez achieved Legend status in my eyes after spanking Alex Arthur in Edinburgh

not sure if you'd get the odds for just a knockdown, although saying that if Gomez puts khan down he'll throw his elbows, head, hooks, kitchen sink, cuddly toy, fondue set and even emersons underpants at him to finish the job.

The pants would finish him off, I reckon. You can get odds on anything nowadays mate, especially on betfair. Make it so Stu

Doesn't look like ITV (any network) are going to be screening much of the undercard.... I cannot see anything on ITV 4.

Gomez has lived a hell of a life already, even a film was mooted, the Arthur victory was momentous, but a victory here would really top it off.
They would have to redo the film then
The romantics in us will really be cheering him on.
He got himself in good shape for the Johansson fight, lets hope he is in even better shape and really pumped.
Haven't seen much press about the usual conferences etc, I presume the Manc has been tryig to intimidate Khan
