Only 2 months ago Junior lost his covented WBC belt to young contender Timoyhy Bradley....ever since things have gone quiet...the man who cant stop talking(about Hatton) has defeaned us with his silence!!

So where does Witter go...it seems as though there will be no rematch with Bradley and at his advanced age there isnt that much time.

Junior sadly put in ANOTHER terrible performance on USTV so there is no chance one of the big boys will give him a suprise shot.

Where on earth can Witter go..or could this really be the beginning of the end??

He'll need a win or two before getting back into the world mix after that showing, but he's already too old to make an impact now. Shame his attitude in the ring doesn't match his confidence out of it.

If it did he'd still be champion.

He has just been made Mandatory for the European. They a working out a deal between the promoters but if nothing comes of it then its purse bids.

Witter is not finished....yet!

If he can beat Branco then maybe a shot at a world crown? Or better...a Colin Lynes rematch as his first defence!

Claiming the Euro title would be a good start to getting him back in contention for a World title shot, then he has to work his way into a mandatory position or hope that now that Bradleys beat him that one of the Champions may give him a voluntary shot. He should also be looking for decent fights at 147 IMO if it's going to help him get back to the top.

i think if juniors heart is still in it then he has 18 months tops to make an impact, but its last chance saloon.

If Hennessy moves him on at his normal rate it will take a minimum of 5 yrs!

NO matter what-Junior has to do it now.Even if it means going with old fish eyes ( Fwankster).

Witter deserves to retire with a financially secure future.

Branco doesn't have any workrate to trouble what ever version of Junior turns up so the Euro would be a great comeback win.

Branco will get knocked out If he acts effeminate to the ref like he did with Lynes, Italian boxers are the most sissy boxers I've seen. Well the ones I've seen anyway.

A European title shot doesn't really do a whole lot for Witter at this point in his career. We've seen how long these things can drag out. It could be 6 months before the Euro fight goes ahead and then it could be even longer before he gets himself into contention for a world title. It could then take even longer than that for him to actually get a title fight. How long did Witter have to wait for a title shot first time around...fecking ages. Witter needs to hope Mick Hennessy can work miracles and get him a title shot straight up for short money (very short money probably). The other route just takes to long.

I see your point - but he needs to be busy and earn and unless a TOP yank wants to fight him or he gets a straight title shot I think the Euro Belt gives him some cash and avenues.

I have not heard anything re: Bradleys 1st defence - maybe he will give Junior a return.

1 thing that bothered me.

WHY DIDN'T THEY HAVE A CLAUSE I N THE CONTRACT THAT GAVE WITTER A REMATCH IF HE LOST DUE TO THE FACT HE BROUGHT FORWARD HIS MANDATORY?

We already established that in this instance the usual Mandatory conditions that prohibit this type of clause did not count as the fight did not go to Purse bids.

I am sure Fwanky would have had this covered.

I think Witter will still be contesting titles well after Hatton has finished,at 34 he has maxium 4 years left, lifestyle and minimum amount of damage are in his favour.He has had poor performances before eg Kotelnik but came back with a blistering performance against Harris.

It's not Hatton's fault he was handed his arse by an unknown midget American!

He has two years tops and he would need to keep VERY busy, if he's going to go Branco then he could het back in the mix and maybe go for a Kotelnik fight soon after.

But why would Kotelnik give him a shot? And why would any "top American" give him a shot?
No offence but he doesn't bring much to the party. If you were a world champ would you give him the opportunity? You would for big bucks but he doesn't bring it.

He didn't perform against Bradley, he let himself down and it's going to be a long road back.

It's the Mancunian Midgets fault that we didn't get to see the fight between 2000 and 2008 though. Witters loss to Bradley is immaterial as Hatton made it perfectly clear that he'd never fight Witter.

I agree. Can't stand Italian boxing.

Italy via Wales are pretty ropey as well.

Commented before on this, but when has Hennessey ever got one of his fighters a voluntary shot at a world title?

He hasn't as far as I can remember.

Witter will have to play the rankings game to get back into the mix, and with his style, he is out of time - He should be ashamed for that showing he put out last time, everything was put on the table for him to produce a great show, and he threw it away.

People knock Lockett for his showing, Witter was far worse in my opinion.
