Hard to say. Different times. Marciano would be a very small heavyweight, but they didn't come tougher. If he could withstand the big punches, he could take over late and beat some of these guys.
Liston-probably
Foreman-probably, I think Liston beats Foreman
Ali-no, would be outboxed too badly
Tyson-probably, heart and durability can outweigh punches
Lewis-no, just too big (but the little white man could hit, and lesser fighters have ko'd Lewis. Always that punchers chance)

Re: Mythical matchups, could Marciano beat

Let me first say that I think Marciano is the greatest 190 lb fighter of all time. I'd pick him to beat Spinks, Holyfield and Jones Jr. at that weight. But as an all-time heavy, he'd have problems because of his small size.
1) Liston -Marciano KO7. Liston is always a mystery when it comes to these all-time matchups. But I don't think Liston has the heart to beat Rock. Rocky in a classic slugfest.
2) Foreman -Foreman KO3. Rocky's too small.
3) Ali -Ali KO14. Ali outboxes him and takes apart Rocky's face.
4) Tyson -Tyson KO 5. I think Tyson's too big.
5) Lewis -Marciano KO10. Lewis comes out too patient and cautious and gets taken apart late.

to give the stumble bum his due,Marciano was knocked down just twice....once by a solid left hook from Walcott in Marciano's first title fight and second in is last one by a terrific right hand from Archie Moore..and he got right back up both times.
Don't know if he was wobbled or not....the way he lurched around the ring made it hard to tell. But, in the first Charles fight, he came roaring out in his usual style and Charles stood his ground and Marciano stopped and got a little more cautious. Years later he said he never thought he could reeally be hurt in the ring until the fight with Ezzard.

Didn't Marciano and Ali spar together for that computer generated thing, and wasn't Marciano supposed to have dropped Ali or had him in cloud cuckoo land or something, it might just be a myth I think Ali could beat Rocky.

was a myth.
i've heard claims he was knocking ali round the ring.
the majority assessment was that ali was playing around and the old man was trying his hardest, and ali predictably was ahving his way.
this is nothing at all to be ashamed of since rocky was an old man, but rockuy fans seem to want us to believe even a near 50 yr old rocky could knockout a prime ali.

::I don't think Marciano could stand up to Listons attack for 15 rounds there is just to big of a difference in size and strength. People underrate Liston saying he was abully and had no heart. That is not true. Liston was frustrated and showed no heart against Clay is beacuse he couldn't hit him and was being peppered in return. As long as Liston could Connect which he would be able to against Marciano he did fine.::
Ali was the only heavyweight of Marciano's caliber that Liston faced, and Sonny quit.
::Foreman was not like Liston or Tyson in stamina but was able to bomb out Fraizer who noboady ever said had a bad chin and I think he could do the same to Maricano.::
I think Rocky's chin was better than Joe's, but I agree that this is Foreman's fight.
::Lennox Lewis has the power, skills, reach and size to keep Maricano at bay and not get hit clean through the entire fight.::
Based on what? His fights with Tua and an out of shape, old Tyson? Marciano would be an entirely different challenge.

Marciano beat Charles, Walcott and Louis. Even at the age they were at, they all would have beaten Liston.

Man, some of you dickheads don't have the sense God gave a pet rock. Marciano would kill Liston. Sonny wasn't that big, only 215, some of you treat him like a giant. Same for Foreman. Ali would beat the rock. Lewis would get KTFO, he's way to passive for Marciano. Tyson would be a toss up--a prime Tyson would win--if not Marciano wins. I see too much disrespect for Marciano here. I think some of you may need a good briefing or refresher course on the career of Rocky Marciano.

I think Liston would have been too big too strong. But I can spot some one this fight. I pick Liston, but could be argued the other way.
Foreman would blast him out like he did Frazier. Frazier was a hell of a fighter and did something Rocky would never be able to do, and that was beat Ali.
So, yes I also pick Ali over Rocky.
I pick Tyson over Rocky and here is why. Rocky was a hell of a fighter but was easy to hit. He stood up to the heavies of his day, but they were all around 200 lbs. or less.
Tyson would come out blazing and land some bombs. I don't care who you are, you can not let Tyson land that kind of stuff on you and survive. Tyson was 35 pounds heavier, and had handspeed, power and movement no other heavy from Rocky's days had.
The fight would not go on long enough for Tyson to start winding down.
As for Lewis-Rocky. Rocky would have a puncher's chance but I don't think he would win. He would be spotting some huge weight. He was just too hittable. Lewis would jab him silly and cut him up pretty bad.
If Ezzard Charles, over the hill and weighing 180 some odd pounds, gave him a great fight, then a prime Lewis, at 240 pounds would KO him.

Since Rocky would be a cruiser weight now shouldn't it be:
1. Braithwaite
2. Toney
3. Jurov
4. Nelson
5. Mormeck
????
YES to all 5
