Rounds closer and tougher than the score cards, but the score cards were fair (if that made sense). Rounds were competitive but Marsh's extra workrate and Pickering's dimished reactions was telling. Pickering tried his heart out, but its just not there anymore.

His punch resistance is also going, Marsh had him hurt on a few occasions (never in serious trouble but he backed him up) - Marsh only has 1 KO on his resume.

Time for Pickering to retire, and judging by his performances post Dunne maybe for Callaghan to retire also.

Purdy held to a draw? Disappointing.

Yeah,

They show the Main Event and Highlights of the Lenny Daws fight, plus highlights of the O Donnell vs Morris fight and the Herdman fight.

Was a good close fight, Jim Watt sucks at scoring and commentating.

 Why do you say that? He got it spot on, I thought he card favoured Pickering a bit much if anything - not by alot.

Over favoured Marsh going forward with workrate landing on Pickerings arms. You don't score workrate unless It lands. He disgustingly scored Lyne's/Branco to Branco soley on Branco going forward too.

I had It 7-5 either way.

Yes agree on Lynes vs Branco - that was terrible job.... However, Marsh out landed Pickering also. So he missed with a few, he was still out throwing and out landing Pickering. You don't lose points for missing if the opponet is doing bugger all.

Pickering's career has nosedived since he left the Ingles gym .

Beagle boy,
Seriously, do you not believe the slide started before he left ?
It is a total cop out to blame a change of gym for this type of decline.

It was evident last time out that Pickering was on the slippery slope - However I thought this fight against Marsh was a bit of a soft touch and even a shop worn Pickering would have enough in the tank to beat him.

However, it wasn't to be - A good result for Marsh

case of one boxer on the way up, and one on the way down.
Fair play to Marsh for taking his chance, he's a decent boxer

Unless I missed something, I was really surprised and disappointed by Pickering's lack of sportsmanship at the end - not once did I see him go over to hug or even acknowledge Marsh. It just struck me as incredibly sour grapes as I can't remember the last time I saw a losing boxer react in that manner, even those involved in 'grudge' matches. Did anyone else pick up on that?

It might have started but leaving has definitely made it worse. No doubt in my mind.

shame that marsh doesnt punch harder. i know it's not the only reason for hard punching, but if he added a bit of muscularity to his frame, im sure he'd start to improve his KO ratio, Which is something he needs to do to go beyond domestic level. it's not like he's a tall super-bantemweight so has to be slender to make the weight.

For a guy who trained under the Ingles, didn't see as much of the counter punching style from Pickering.

Pickering's last fight with the Ingles he won the British title with a 12 round shut-out . It didn't look like his decline had started.
He's looked awful in his last 3 fights

I noticed that, too. Esham comes across as a good lad, so, hopefully, he congratulated Marsh off-camera.

Champion of the IOW, though.
