Okay so Williams is guaranteed to whack McWhatshisname, but how to get him back into the worldwide picture after 3 years of fighting Brits and obscure European prospects?

What 'name'(s) would you put Danny Williams in with who are on the wane and would get him access into a world title eliminator?

Another match up with Sprott, Skelton or Harrison would be enough for anyone to raise the Luger to their temple, so how about any of these fellas, who are all looking for a route back:

Jameel McCline

Dominic Guinn

Frans Botha

Bruce Seldon

Michael Moorer

Oliver McCall

David Tua

DaVarryl Williamson

Kevin McBride

Jameel McCline - excellent choice, beatable but with big name value, and US TV seems to love him.

Dominic Guinn - would be OK but Danny would only really get noticed by beating him in spectacular fashion, as a routine win over the current Guinn is exactly that: routine

Frans Botha - too old and inactive, and will be of even less value after Solis presumably beats him

Bruce Seldon - same as Botha

Michael Moorer - still a bankable name but hasn't really shown much ambition recently. If Danyy got him out there double-quick, it would be OK.

Oliver McCall - retains respect and marquee value despite his age. He's probably still got a decent ranking with the WBC. A good choice.

David Tua - if Tua comes in with enthusiasm, this would be an absolute cracker! Tua's fallen off the radar but then so has Danny Stateside. Match these two on US TV and the winner's stock will get a massive boost from what couldn't fail to be a good fight.

DaVarryl Williamson - too old and, unlike McCall, Seldon, Botha and Moorer, he's a "never was". Plus coming off a big loss to a guy Danny wiped out in 30 seconds. A no-win situation.

Kevin McBride - no. Just no.

Well I am looking at the rankings. Here are the fighters Danny should look at.

Golota - ranked with the IBF/WBA/WBC
Meehan 2
Mollo
Arreolla - maybe a bit too dangerous, but I think Arreolla would take it as a mark time fight against a name.

Tua would be a good fight for Danny.
Williams always does well against shorter opponents who steam into him and try to knock him out.

Arreola isnt dangerous at all - Danny could absolutely whack him.

Arreola is a good prospect, be a risk for Danny to take him on, remember Danny was hurt a few times by a relative novice in his last fight

You can add Monte Barrett to the list, a talented but inconsistent performer who like Danny has been known to bottle it on the big occasion.

nothing to do with weight...sure he was too heavy but the height thing would always be the main problem

Monte is a very, very good option after his 'big result'.

Danny could chin him in a couple of rds at this point.
