If he was fighting now he might be the world champ...I think he could beat the Klitschko Bros.

I don't pay attention to the current scene (didn't even know about the very recent title fight, until I saw it on ESPN headlines) but if Joe Bugner would be the heavyweight champion today, then the scene has got to be pretty weak.

No knock on Bugner, but he was not close to first tier back in the 70s.

No knock on Bugner, but he was not close to first tier back in the 70s.
All the action is at the lower weights...

I wouldn't count him out against the Klitschko's, I was watching Wlad the other night against "The Tiger" and was bemoaning the fact that the World's number 1 heavyweight has virtually no boxing skills, aside from single shots and holding.

Assuming Bugner's chin holds up, I can see him outworking Wlad, and I never though I'd pick Bugner to beat someone on workrate.

The heavyweight division sucks... I think the 45 year old Foreman who knocked out Michael Moore would beat Wlad and Vitali...
