Interesting article Lennox says that Haye is talented and may be ready in 18 months so perhaps sees him fighting 3 or 4 times which is interesting. Would be interested to see what Lewis thinks Haye needs to add to his arsenal in those fights.

Oh and Rawling says that it could be Maskaev for the next fight again.

He needs to get used to not being physically dominant any more. And that gunslinger left hand has to come up.

I would agree with Lewis and also with what gunslinger has had to say.

However, I think Hayes future in the heavyweight ranks is very bright indeed. I honestly feel he will hit the deck possibly on a number of occasions and may even lose a couple of fights but his talent as with Lewis will get him to the top of the heavyweight division.

I think Haye has a good sence of distance and brings the hands up when in trouble, people in my oppinion make too much about old fassioned "essentials" in boxing.

Mmmm. If he has such a good sense of distance why was Mormeck banging in the right hands with regularity until he got tired and Haye turned the fight around?

It's not just that he carries it low, it's how he brings it back. I was always taught that you throw the jab out, turn it so your shoulder protects your chin and bring it back on the same line so it does the same – then it's harder for the other guy to shoot the right over the top.

And yes, I liked to throw the jab from the hip as you can get that bit of whip, but show me a fighter who keeps his left hand low who doesn't get made to pay for it. (And don't any of you smart asses say Mayweather because that's just different and if you watch him he rarely shoots from the hip so's to speak a la Tommy Hearns).

I think for Haye to have an optimum chance of upsetting Wlad it would be best to follow the route suggested by Lennox, 12-18 months and 3/4 fights sounds about right.

But I don't see why Haye can't have a go if he fancies it and the other factors are in place - so what he loses? He career isn't over and he can go back to the drawing board and with a few spectacular stoppage wins and his mouth it wouldn't be too hard to drum up interest for another shot down the line?

I think your more likely to get a rematch after a 12 round war than a 3 round blow out, I think haye should really have a at least 3 fights at the weight just to get used to it before he goes for a shot at the best. I think Maskaev, the winner of Rahman Toney and then Peter etc.

I met Frank Bruno on Friday and he virtually said the same thing. He felt that Klitschko would beat Haye, that said he did think Haye was too small for him which I don't agree with.

Lennox spent a while working with Haye before the Abdoul fight though so probably has a good idea of what he's capable of.

More like run away before he hits me.

He's still in very good shape.

David probably wasn't ready for Thompson, Gurov, Mormack or Bonin, but this is a fella who has faith in his own ability and wants to dive in at the deepend to fastr ack himself.
Bruno and Lewis were both more safety first boxers, whereas Haye could be reckless but this makes him damn exciting.
Time will tell how realistic his ambitions are
