Ok well i'll take Steve word as more reliable than that report, hopefully we will see this fight in September, or if Baysangurov doesn't want it, then how about Moore v Duddy at light middle

If there was an ounce of truth mate he'd have been worried (he wasnt), sounds like its a done deal mate.

You have to worry though don't you. If these rumours of Kiev have come from Baysangurov's side, thewn we probably have another European trying to squirm his way out of a fight. Branco messed Lynes about, Inkin messed Froch about, bloody hell, even Baysangurov pulled out the 1st time and yet had a fight a month or two later despite a fractured cheekbone.
Should we start worrying?

Can I ask a simple question.
If it's a done deal ( quote Steve Wood) why hasn't there been a formal announcement ?
Surely that would put an end to all the speculation.

Jamie won't go to Kiev surely, its the same as most places in Europe desperately hard to get a decision and although this fights ends in stoppage for one or the other the away fighter won't get any favours.
Baysangurov has stated that he will fight Jamie but would prefer an eliminator for a world title straight out, he says if he cannot get that, then he is more than happy to see who the best in Europe is.
He is a good fighter there is no doubt about it but if you watch him as no doubt Jamie and Steve have done many times he has plenty of weaknesses, he does seem very very strong, however, for a light-middle and I think the delay in the fight may have helped him more than Jamie, hope I am wrong though and Mooresy takes the belt, if it happens.
If not let Baysangurov go for his eliminator, take the Euro belt in a vacant title fight and then if the outgoing champ has got and won his eliminator, keep in touch and target him if he takes the full world title strap, meanwhile earning a good few bob in a couple of Euro defences in the north west.

I'm not sure about the intricacies of purse bids but they appear to be easily manipulated. Fair play to Steve Wood for sticking to his guns. It was like when we were told that Matchroom (?) had won the purse bids for Lynes-Branco and then after a few weeks stalling and mumbling it pops up in Italy after all.
Even after you win the purse bids can the rival promoters mess about and then get re-bids/snatch the rights to gain home advantage etc?? Where did this rumour of moving the fight to Kiev come from?
It's a murky business no doubt.

If Baysangurov dropped the belt it would be a set back for Moore. Moore was expecting a top 5 world ranking for beating him.

Moore has done the right thing and kept busy , he could of sat back knowing he was the next fight for Baysangurov, and not risked his chance. but he took fights and this will keep him sharp.

I wonder if Stegsie can enlighten us.
Surely all it takes is an official announcement then the rest takes care of itself.

Maloney is in Vegas for the Cotto fight, Steve Wood is in Portrugal with his family. There wont be an official announcment until later, but im led to believe its all set upand done bar the announcment. Steve has a new head of PR on board (who is currently in vegas with Frank), so im sure an announcment will be made soon enough.
