ÓT PC Virus´s

In the last few days my PC has become littered with virus´s, Spyware,Trojan horses, down to Tribal Fusion tracking cookies you seem to get of this site.
Every time I put my settings on block cookies, it automatically reverts to accepting all of them
I have AVG, but everytime it clears they all come back, help!
Also Windows Antivirus 2009 pops up all the time, when I have never downloaded it or used it

Download/acquire the following programs:
Spybot search and destroy...
http://www.safer-networking.org/ (FREE)
Nod32...
http://www.eset.com/
Ad-Aware...
http://lavasoft.com/
This is why I don't use Windows though.

Nice one mate, I did the top one and it has taken me a few hours to download it and scan it etc, but things seem good now.
Do I need the other ones to?

It was popping up everyother minute! God knows where it came from, I did click on it, but didn't bother when you had to register
I dunno whether by doing that it made things worse.
I had a feeling that by being '2009' it was dodgy!
And I didn't think you could have two anti-virus's as they work against each other! When I had AVG and Norton it really stuffed things up!

I would, but they're not free.
If you can use torrents or something.

I had that tribalfusion thing come up on my computer. I can't remeber how I got rid of it.
I think I switched over to Firefox which stopped a lot of popups.
Goto download.com. There are a lot of freebees on there.
CCleaner is highly recommended for cleaning junk out of the registry and wiping cookies - I do it once a week/fortnight.
Also SpywareBlaster is a decent program for preventing the loading of spyware cookies/websites by blocking it in your web browser.
Spybot S&D is a very good program too.
Personnally I use Avast Antivirus because it has a resident shield running all the time and updates itself automatically.
All of these are freebees - I have had no problems since apart from one or two tracking cookies that come up from time to time.

No they don't conflict mate. They work well together. I'm not saying they'll get rid of your viruses/malware NOW, because some stuff is difficult to remove once it's on there. However, if you formatted your HD and reinstalled XP from scratch and then those programmes, you'd have no problem. Oh yeah I forgot to add Firefox to that list. Firefox is a MUST to stop site malware/pop ups.
