Shouldn't be, but all HOFs in sports seem to be watered down in quality, so he will get in if he is not already a member.

HOFs in just about every field should be for the truly great, imo.

Bowe at his best was an exceptional heavyweight, who beat Holyfield (a locked on HOFer) twice out of three times. His prime was very short, and he never lived up to his considerable potential. I would say yes, he is HOF material

Beating one HOF and a bunch of C-raters is not a HOF career.

Bowe didn't do enough to warrant admittance, regardless of how many less than deserving fighters are already in.

Most HOFs are popularity contests. I wouldn't think that Bowe is all that well thought of these days, even in the States. He accomplished little during his brief prime, but if Jack Sharkey and Jersey Joe Walcott can make it, I expect to see Bozo there sooner or later. Hey! They have to induct somebody every year don't they?

Obviously, there are several fighters in the Hall of Fame that Bowe was much better than.
If you just look at heavyweights, Braddock,Willard,Godfrey,Johannson are somehow in.

You also have guys in lower weight classes like Chalky Wright, Edwin Rosario,Benny Bass, Dixie Kid that are in.

However, what people never seem to understand is that Bowe really isn't up against these people to make the Hall of Fame. He is up against other fighters who aren't already in.
He may be competing against Rodrigo Valdez, Eddie Mustapha Muhammad, Lloyd Marshall, Eddie Booker, Lupe Pintor, Erik Morales etc.

As a side note, you have to be retired for 5 years to be eligible for the Hall of Fame. Bowe has been for 3. Bowe actually has a fight scheduled in September. If this comes off, he will have to wait until 2013 before he is eligible again.

Bowe didn't achieve enough IMO to warrant HOF status, he had the talent. But he never earned it.

Sadly, Jess Willard and Benjamin Brain are not.

Though...Ben Brain has an honorable mention
for awesomeness by sheer fact of his name.

i dont think he achieved enough but i couldnt completely rule him out

How many years do you have to be retired before you are eligible for the "Robinson Hall of Fame"?
