Not a bad fight. Fewkes is very under-rated IMO. Remember, this is the kid that outboxed Craig Watson.

Slightly annoying that it's a figher with little KO power, but then look what Limond did and he's not as slick as John.

I thought Fewkes has due to fight Martin Gethin for the British Title the night before????

I thought it was for the english title, but like i said he has only been offered the chance to fight Khan.

Sorry thats what I meant....

Would he pull out of this fight to go in with not much of a chance of beating Khan???

Ah, but you forget; ££££££

If I was John, I'd take the Khan fight and then circle back for an English title shot. He may even get a British title shot in December when I think Murray fights next after September.

True true....

And I suppose although he hasn't got much power, it will look good on Khan's record to beat someone who is yet to be defeated as a Pro.

he might as well fight murray as fewkes

in my eyes murray/fewekes are on the same level, but Murray has a title

no brainer for me, same risk less reward

Hennessey and SN find it difficult to work together though

Fewkes a lot less risk. He can box, can dig the body, but has zero power. Potentially as good a boxer as Limond, but the power level is the same. Hence why he's allegedly been offered it.

Murray is far more dangerous. Fewkes is a lovely little boxer with great moves, but he lacks the firepower to be a real force in the division.

Murray looks like he could be the good if he develops his movement and defensive skills, he certainly has the power of shot, and if he adds those other components he could become a very good fighter.

agreed that he hits harder, you cant really argue with ZERO KO's

but its not like Murray is a PUNCHER

if i had MY money invested in Khan there would be more business sense putting him in with murray than fewkes, as i see both on par threat wise

if he is fighting a Brit it may as well be Murray, then he can move on to the next level, Fewkes is a no brainer

i think its a good fight... u can only knock khans people when they take on unknowns...this guy is an unbeaten slick brit...would have been nice to have the winner of fewkes-gethin fight khan

but getting fewkes in now is ok

dont know what khans reach is .....but fewkes is 5ft8 and iand may be heavier than khan...a good reach is vital tho..anyone got stats

I don't mind this matchup, one thing it might show, If Fewkes can hurt or deck Khan then we know he has a dodgy chin

Interesting match up. Anyone smell a potential upset?

When we met Jim Glen on the Witter vs. Bradley fight he said that Fewkes can bang, he does it in training but never seems to carry it through into fights. Imagine if he did against Khan?

Limond had Khan in trouble and I think Fewkes is a better boxer, the only question is his chin? How will it stand up to Khan's bombs?

At least Khan is fighting a natural lightweight.

Will Fewkes take the fight?

Has Khan already sparred Fewkes?

has anyone ?

If he spars guys like Fewkes, that will be why he doesn't get floored.

Besides, everything seems to cloak and dagger with Khan. I'll bet his sparring partners have to sign confidentiality agreements!

Chambers,
Fewkes is contracted to Maloney.
That's no easier than Murray / Hennessey to arrange with the worthy one.
He'd want options no doubt.

catching khan being lazy is the way to beat him...big problems defensively.

atm tho he can outbox most....hes another freak physically...always going to be way too big for most lightweights

Didn't realise that the Warren-Maloney relationship was as bad as Warren-Hennesey (not surprised though). Why can't they all just get along like 1 BIG Happy Promoting Family

It says in today's Sheffield Star that Fewkes was offered 30 grand and turned the fight down.

Rumour going around Sheffield gyms is that it will next be offered to Ken Dodd, provided he agrees to use his tickling sticks insted of gloves.

I think it's nonsense as he's too much of a natural Lightweight for Khan to risk facing him.
