Let's face it, the guy is at the tail end of his career and by many accounts of his decision to fight in Vegas in his next fight, he is obviously in it for the money but say he beats Malignaggi - what big money fights are left at LW?

If he is in it for the money, why not stay at WW for his remaining few fights where the likes of Cotto, Mosley, Marg would love to face him and make definite big money fights. Yes he will most likely lose all of those fights but he still has a chance but love him or hate him he will generate serious money and will be a more defining ending for the boxing fans to see these fights rather than him bullying some 10 stoners around for the next one or two years and not even look impressive in doing that.

Yes it looks ok on paper to finish your career against limited opponents at 140 but if I was Hatton I would step up to 147, not rush in like a mad man in each fight and earn myself some big big pay days in massive fights.

I think Hatton will chase the money and whatever weight the big money fights are at, that is the weight he will finish at

He'd be marmalised by Mosley and Margarito. Seriously, his chin would get him in trouble, long term, in those fights. Margarito is a Super-Middleweight FFS. He's massive and Mosley would eat Hatton for breakfast even at 54 years of age as he is now.

Cotto would be entertaining but Cotto would box circles around him or match him inside and bury him.

Hatton has a slim chance versus Cotto and zero versus the other two.

Hoping Manny P stops by at 140 is his best bet of victory in a megafight.

Hatton is just not big enough and cute enough to campaign at Welterweight.

If Hatton did step-up again, he could be seriously risking his long-term health - the lad eats way too many punches and the top Welter boys are absolute beasts.

Malignaggi and then Pacquiao, both at Light Welterweight.

There's a dirth (is that a word?!) of talent at 135 that can move up and give Ricky problems and a decent fight/payday. Why move up and lose?!

NO.....Ricky is the best at 140 and doesn't need to step out of his element against men too big for him. His style doesn't translate well to weight hopping. He's won a welter title and thats good enough. Now he just needs to stay at 140 and cement his legacy there.

Starting with Malignaggi....and hoping Pacman steps up to light-welter which'd obviously be a superfight.

Come on, he's looked damaged for a while now. Looked like something had gone out of him vs Collazo/Urango, and he looked even more vulnerable vs Mayweather and Lazcano.

People are making it sound like Hatton is a sitting duck who gets an Eric Crumble style beating whenever he steps up to WW. He is still competitive at that weight. Oh look, Judah got a little beating against Floyd and took a beating against Cotto. Maybe he should never fight again?

No for me. Pac and Mal at LW then retirement........unless Pac definitely fights DLH. What's new with that?

I think the point being made is that Hatton is just not big enough to take the punishment dished out by the likes of Cotto and Margarito, nor would he be able to evade it.

Regardless of how the fight finished, look at the shots Margarito took from Cotto throughout the fight - and yet Margarito still walked through Cotto. If Ricky had been in the ring with either Margarito or Cotto last Saturday night, he would have got seriously damaged.

In terms of Mayweather, its pretty much irrelevant to compare his punch ratio to Cotto or Margarito. Mayweather simply doesnt look to land the type of shots that Margarito and Cotto throw (e.g. take one or two, to land two or three better ones)

He'll beat featherfists, then next year fight Pacman.

If he loses(PLEASE!!! ) then he will say he lost to the best P4P fighter in the world, announce his retirement and spend the rest of his life drinking guiness.

If he wins then he will tell us how he has beaten the best P4P fighter in the world and then announce he is retiring as the best P4P fighter in the world, go into a clichéd goodbye and thank you and spend the rest of his life drinking guiness.
