Khan said he was 1% body fat against Gomez which isn't possible.

I would say by looking at them:
Khan is somewhere between 4% - 6%
Hatton 7%-8%
Calzaghe about 8%-9%

Exactly. I cannot remember the actual percentage he gave, but Kerry Kayes said Hatton's body fat is around 10-12% when Ricky is in shape.
No way is Khan's 1%. Impossible. If Khan's is that low, then what the fcuk was Bruce Lee's? Some people actually believe Lee died because he had no body fat, which is impossible. If you have no body fat whatsoever, then you wouldn't be able to stretch your muscles.

I’m pretty sure the top Mr Universe contenders temporarily boil down to some obscene degree, like 1-2% body fat for competition, but it’s considered a critically low level and has be upped immediately.
Boxers wouldn’t be lower than 5%.

i have a friend, he is not a boxer, he is 6ft4, 11 stone wet through, and when he stands on the special scales, his body fat comes up as 'error' ..

and the job he does requires hideous amounts of fitness, guts, drive and bollocks !!!!

I thought Khan said 2% before the Gomez fight, and Frankie Gavin was apparently at 4% before his olympic withdrawal.

Not this topic again. 8)
Stallone was 3% body fat for Rocky 3 and 2.5% for Rambo 3. That is the lowest body fat percentage I have seen and Sylvester was living on broccoli and tuna to get to that.

It's a bit different in bodybuilding as they also deplete, then replenish the carbs to make the muscle belly's bulge even more.
Khan carries a good 3% around those nipples of his.

mr olympia bodybuilders like flex wheeler and jay cutler etc are around 4-5%...so that means hattons about 10, khan about 8.

some real ignorance on here. Your assuming that just because bodybuilders are 4-5% so Amir Khan must be 8%. Wheres the reasonin behind that. Khan said that he got down to 1.5% for the gomez fight which is easily possible with the amount of cardio he does. Bodybuilders must maintain muscle mass as so if they do alot of cardio to get to very low body fat levels then they lose muscle mass which they dont want. You cannot say he looks like 4%. He is what he says he is otherwise you would get people like Barry Mcguigan sayin otherwise. Whats with all the negativity surrounding this khan lad

mate if khan was that low, he would never be able to last a round...u need 3% just to support your internal organs and skeletal structure....his trainer should have been fired on the spot for letting him get anywhere below 5%.
a canadian bodybuilder named paul dillet got himself to 2% once and couldnt finish his 3 minute routine...his body literally seized up and he couldnt move any joint in his body..he was carried off stage like a manaquin all stiff n shit.

Harry what's your area of expertise? I don't know much about this but you say that someone can easily get down to 1.5% bodyfat but from what i have read is that you can't get close to that without depleting the essential fats inlcuding fat that cushions the internal organs. If that was the case it wouldn't take much for a boxer having an organ dislodged ending a fight and possibly causing some real damage.
Bearing in mind that skin accounts for 15% of bodyweight a very thin layer of fat underneath plus the internal fat pushes the up fat % to much higher than is said. These figures are proably coming from those scales that put a small current through you and they can't be trusted as they exaggerate the figure after you've worked out and are dehydrated. I've seen sub <10% readings on those before which i didn't trust. All bodyfat measurements are estimates and only really have use for comparing your rates at different times.

The lowest bodyfat on a boxer has gotta be Manny Pac... at weigh in time he cannot be much more than 3%...
Hatton and Khan i would say are around 6% and Calzaghe 10%

My mate had a body fat percentage of 4%, I tested him, and the proffesor who was involved in the research was very concerned about his future welfare. He actually doesn't really stick to a diet (he'll can drink a damn sight more than me and has kebabs and stuff pretty much most weeks) but he does train like the bejesus.
He's absolutely fine health wise, but I don't think Khan, Hatton or Calzaghe are as cut as him.

but i do know that the army basic fitness test (or BFT or whatever they call it today), part of it was a 1.5 mile run, and my friend used to do it in less than 7 mins, he is one hell of an athlete.

it is over cross country or road or any course that the PTI deems acceptable for the test, this personal one was in bosnia and was partly uphill. this guy did pass first time, only 4 people passed the selection on his course out of over 90 !!
its not the size of the dog in the fight, its the size of the fight in the dog !!
