Yes, fantastic fighter. Great movement. Two very impressive wins over Laguna, an outstanding lightweight himself. It annoys me when Alex Arthur publically criticises the man.

yeah he could do it all couldnt he?

Amazing to think that after his career he had to return to being a carpenter on the building sites of Scotland. If he turned pro in this day and age you would have to think he could expect to make a few million with that ability.

Buchanan's win over Laguna is one of the greatest wins by a British fighter. Ken went into the lions den & won. What stands out from the bout, is the very high temperatures both guys fought under. I cannot remember the temperatur given but by all accounts it was ridiculously hot!

Imagine Amir Khan in with Buchanan? No, I didn't think so either!

Ken would certainly have beaten Alex like he was his daddy if they had ever met in the ring!

Kenny is a great guy, salt of the earth. I had the pleasure to chat with him in Glasgow a few years ago and he STILL weighs in at lightweight. He went through a bad patch some years ago, and was sexually assaulted by a housemate in Glasgow whilst asleep (for which the housemate paid a heavy price when Kenny woke up). He also hurt his back in a police station (allegedly hurled down some stairs), but Kenny is over all that shit.
It says a lot that one of the greatest fighters ever never gave him a deserved rematch.

A witty guy also as well as a great fighter.
In a documentary , he said "they call Duran hands of stone cuz he hit me in the stones".
Classic.

Hey, Pug, you should see Kenny in a kilt. He looks more Scottish than Robbie Burns.

I believe it Bennie.
Ken was such a skilled boxer. Really great to watch.
It always bugged me that Duran never fought him again.
Even if Duran stopped him in a rematch, it would at least have put some finality to the situation.
Ken had some good moments in their fight also.
Duran was a machine that night, but it wasnt entirely one way traffic in my opinion.
